He told me about it a couple months ago and asked to keep it confidential, but he will be having a lung removed, so this is a very big moment for him and I hope he pulls through it as a survivor.
Some of you may know that we go back a long ways, grew up in El Monte, California and graduated from the same high school.
My wife, Nancy died of lung cancer two years ago, and I really have a lot of understanding and compassion for his situation.
Good luck, Danny

Danny,
I am very sorry to hear about this. If anyone can beat cancer it's an old coyote hunter like you. Tell your Doctor to schedule the surgery for yesterday. That way, you are one day closer to healing up for coyote calling.

Sorry to hear about this Danny. But, you've been given the chance to do something about it when so many others with lung cancer hardly get the diagnosis and it's too late. Yours is an opportunity. Prayers are sent on your behalf.

Thanks Leonard and everyone else, I need all the help I can get. I don't go to church but I do believe, I haven't been all that bad so maybe the prayers would help this old varmint.
I'm going into the VA Hospital in Reno Thursday, won't be out for 7 to 10 days, I'll be so drugged up I won't even have a clue what's going on lol, so it won't be all that bad.
Leonard, the good news is I'm a 2A, I'll have a fighting chance so they tell me. I'll be around a few more days till D-Day.....Thanks and God bless all you guys.

That is sad to hear.
You seem to be in as good of spirits as one can be at a time like this and that helps a lot, I think.
I pray everything goes well for you.

Danny
You will be just fine. I do not go to church either and I may even be one of those born again believer people make fun of some times but who knows and who really cares. But I am saying a prayer for a speedy recovery and that we cross paths someday. You just happen one of the people that I would like to meet some day so hopefully you will stick around for wile; it is part of my prayer. So it looks like you might be stuck here for a quite a wile yet. He has answered pretty many of my request in life. Besides he knows I can not afford to get out there to your part on the country for at least a couple of years yet.

Hey Pantyhose... I know, enough with THAT old joke... but it made ya crack a smile, didn't it?
I heard about this awhile back and I've been praying for you ever since. I'm going to do some super duper sending on the wings of Crow that you come out of this, more stubborn, stronger, keener and healthier than ever, my friend! So when you see a bunch of smoke rising from the east and the crows start talking at ya, you know I'm back here working my magic.
Stay strong and stay You and I'll be waiting to hear the reports when you get back on your feet or fingers, whichever comes first

Danny,
You can put me down that that same category as yourself. I've a strong belief in God and the power of prayer, but I gave up on organized religion years ago.
The scariest day of my life, was just over a year ago, when an Oncologist looked at my CT scans and told me that in his experience, I appeared to have malignant lung cancer.
It was the longest 10 days of my life until the Biopsy report came back showing the worst case of Valley Fever that my Doctors had ever seen.
God wasn't quite ready to call me home, and I don't think that he's ready for you either. I've had you in my prayers for a while now, and will continue to do so.
I'm still hoping to have at least one more hunt with you on this side.
Take care, and may God bless you.
Tim

A short update on Danny, I was at his place Saturday and Sunday. He is in good shape for the surgery physically, mentally and spiritualty. Varmints can be hard to take down, varmint hunters, even harder!
Charlene has prepared well for those tough after surgery days and Danny couldn't ask for a better, stronger caregiver.
Danny is entertaining the thought that his future handicap status will enable him to shoot from the hatch, just like the good ole days.
Danny, Charlene, God Bless You Both,
Steve

Hi To All Of Danny's(onecoyote) Friends,
This is Charlene, Danny's wife. Today Danny underwent 6 1/2 hours of surgery and they removed his entire right lung. The doctor had hoped to save the upper portion but the pathologist found that the cancer had spread a little into it. Right now Danny is higher than a kite(morphine) so he feels no pain. He'll have to stay in intensive care for a few days and will hopefully be home in 10 days. So far, he is recuperating on schedule with no complications.
Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes
