Winds of 80-90 mph hit Omaha and Council Bluffs at about 5:p.m. today. Golf ball sized hail hammered holes in the siding on west side of my house, and a very large, hundred year old tree right next door came smashing down into the street. The news has reported at least two deaths here in Council bluffs. A large tree fell onto the roof of a car while three people were in it. We sure are getting our share of bad weather around here. I don't know how much rain we got during todays storm, but the street looked like a lake, as did my neighbors back yard. I asked him if I could go fishing in his lake, but he wouldn't allow it.
Looking on the light side, the neighbor kids were all out to check on the storm damage. One teen age girl walked up to me and said, "you don't know who I am do you?" I said Yes I do, your name is Britney, you are Roger's girl, you go to school over at Woodrow Wilson, you have a boy friend there, and I saw you kissing him over behind that one tree. She said "You DID?" "I didn't even know you were standing there". I said that being a retired Lawman and all, I know everything. I see everything and hear everything. That girl now thinks I am one super Detective. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Sorry to hear about the storm damage Rich. I wonder if that was part of the system that passed through KS last night. It pretty much went past us on both sides, but there were places within fifty miles of me that got 6-7 inches of rain last evening and the same winds you speak of. As much as I hate hot weather, I'm almost ready to see the dry, hot stuff finally get here so all these storms will be a thing of the past.
BTW, what you doing watching those young girls anyway? Ain't you too old for that? ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

Here is a view from my back porch last Thrusday night of a fire that Lightning started up in the Mule Mountains, just NE of Bisbee.

THe news said it burned only 500-1,000 acres.
