The body structure says coyote, along with the distinct black line down the front legs. The facial patern looks like red wolf, I know that red wolves were released in the Carolina's 15 years ago or longer, sure gives em time to work there way into Kentucky.
Heres a picture of one I caught 5 or 6 years ago, I kept it alive ( which was Illegal ) to have a game warden or someone check it out. I called the warden 2 times and even told him it was alive and no-one ever showed up to check it out. Ironicallly at the time I had her alive I got my subscription to Varmint Masters magazine and on the cover was a pic of a red wolf and story about releasing them and that they were doing well and expanding. The pic was identical to this coyote.

I ain't buying it, canine. I have seen red wolves. That animal in the link is not a red wolf, in my opinion. Furthermore, if they released red wolves in "the Carolina's" that long ago, they have most likely interbred with coyotes to the point of being indistingushable, fifteen years later. I doubt that it's possible for a "pack" of red wolves to remain intact and migrate any significant distance, although my knowledge of Carolina to Kentucky distances is nonexistant?
Anyway, I do not wish to control the debate, nor will I decline from stating a personal opinion. If I had better knowledge of Malamutes and Huskys and other eskimo breeds, I would enthusiastically second Norm's opinion. I think it's a dog.
Anybody else? LB

Ebay pulled the listing, They must have thought it was a dog too.

I think that I have only seen one picture ever, in my whole life, of what could be easily argued as being a coyote/dog cross.
Not saying that they don't exist, just asking where all of the clear pictures are?

leonard, I wasn't sayin it was full red wolf. I meant it as a mix. I don't see many "dog" features. when i looked at it,I seen more coyote than anything else. Other than the facial mask. That did look like a husky though..Hell we'll never know for sure, but I have seen some wild color phases here in the east before, like the one i pictured.

I clicked the link and ended up buying Sheryl Crow's "Tuesday Night Music Club". What a woman! Never understood what she saw in Lance Armstrong?

No doubt, leave it to an Okie to like a chick that wipes her butt with her fingers.
