An aggressive coyote that has been roaming Seattle’s Discovery Park won't be shot after all, the federal Department of Agriculture (USDA) said this morning.
Instead, the agency will trap the animal, and euthanize it. WTF? Bottom line is, it’s dead. Who cares “how”.

Sounds familiar. People who don't live in the area with the problem, are throwing a fit and not allowing the problem to be solved.

I bet those are the same dumb pricks who feed the wildlife when they go to the park. They have no problem creating, or enhancing a problem. But as long as the problem isn't in their own back yard, they don't want anyone else to fix it.

It's the City, not the citizenry, that opposes shooting.

"We have indicated to them that if they were to discharge a firearm within a park limit that we would take legal action," said Seattle Parks Department spokeswoman Joel Ligon.

*With "them" being the Federal Govt.

She went on to say;

"We are categorically opposed to any interference with the coyote at all..."

The up side is, the property which the USDA is charged with protecting, is the Naval housing unit owned by the Federal Govt.

They will do what they please, the Parks Department was only invited into the process to establish where these property lines lie.

This whole thing could become a moot point, since the entire park actually lies on the old Navy base, and the lease of said park could be revoked.

Some anti, involved with the process, likely leaked the story to the press who are playing it for all it's worth.

The last coyote had to attack a small child before the tide of public opinion turned towards the WDFW's goal of eliminating the problem.

Nobody said squat, good or bad, when the chickenshit Game Warden shot it seven times with his .40 Glock, because "it rushed him".

I run into this allot! State trapping has me out in allot of the parks and public areas.

You haft to watch your P's and Q's for sure. I had a State cop give me a ton of crap last spring! When I am trapping inside the city limets its a diffrent game for sure.

And if some old lady looses her poodle or cat to some Coytes! Look out if she has some pull!....lol....Break out the heavy stuff because she is pissed. Any other time, dont hurt the little animals!

So much crap it makes me sick sometimes! Every township or city is diffrent, I haft to make a trip to the police office in allot of cases to see just how they feel about the area and the people, just to stay on the safe side and let them know Im there in there area. Other wise its a battle from the start.

Let the Beavers stop up a drain and see how long it takes them to call after they flood the roads a time or two and no one can get out! Any other time they are just cute critters and fun to watch!

This kind of thing gets under my skin! Real fast!

Or you get a call from someone who has a coon in there walls or a Skunk under there house. "But your not goning to hurt it are you?" "Can you get it and take it somewere and turn it loose?"

[Confused]

Kee,

I had one small town pay me to come in at fist light and shoot pigeons off of roof tops with 22 CB caps for a few minutes each morning, before most people woke up.

Government Beaver jobs are great! After they have spent $10-15,000 repairing flooded roads, you can easily get $500 to remove a pair of beaver.

And before Timothy McVeigh went to Oklahoma City, I used a bunch of Ammonia Nitrate to remove countless beaver dams and lodges for different counties. ( Think DAA's flying pigs video on mega steroids! ) I always under bid those jobs, just because it was so much fun!

Tim,

I agree! But the crap we put up with now days is un-real! We want them here to watch till they take my 600.00 cat off my porch!

I done a job for the rail road last year, took out some beaver that were flooding the area. Went back to make sure they were gone, pulled up in the truck as they were taking the damn out and there were 15 people there with signs picketing the place! [Mad]

But they were picketing the mayors office when the raod was closed and they could not get out to go to work! [Confused]

Its small town here, I can only think of what the guys in the big citys haft to deal with! [Mad]

Brent
