Hi, im Alan and TA invited me over to this forum where I lurked for awhile and finally decided what the heck I need another forum to keep up with... NOT!!! So I signed up anyway.
I've always grown up hunting, my dad started me deer hunting and then got busy w/ work. I kept on deer hunting and started bowhunting as well. I did some rabbit hunting, started a love of guns and shooting stuff! Later, my dad would take me and my brother hunting coyotes with us young kids being the dogs and running coyotes, back then it was fun. Nowdays the guys that run them around here, well I just don't like going with them. Nice guys and all, they just like to run the dogs more then kill coyotes, and that's okay for awhile but Kill the darn thing and lets go get another one. LOL It's mostly older fella's that like to shoot out of the trucks, since they can't move fast enough to jump out before shooting or don't have anybody to drop off to shoot.
I started getting interested in coyote hunting about 2 years ago when I got the 2 cass creek callers. Went a couple times during the day and once at night w/ brother-inlaw who had gotten a light for christmas, Nothing. I bought several calls and happened to be at cabelas one day when they had a used Foxpro 416B in the bargin bin. I spent way to much on a used unit but man I was gonna kill some coyotes!!!! Nothing, finally bought a used FX3 and still have it today. Recently I acquired a LF 170 as well. I have called in 2 coyotes that I know about after dark now and am getting out as much as possible these days before the wife has the baby (any time now). I seem to get out more after dark these last couple weeks, but thats about to change when I have almost 2 weeks off for the baby and it's not here yet so I'm outta here and going hunting, with my cell phone handy of course!!!
Anyway, sorry such a long post. Just thought i'd introduce myself and say Merry Christmas to every one and look forward too reading all the stories and typing stories myself.
Later,
Al

Count me in with the day-laters..... I was busy!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

FWIW, I heard an awful lot of local business owners/store employees make it a point to stress the term "Merry Christmas" this year. None of the PC "Happy Holidays" crap.
