A 10-year-old Florida girl faces felony weapons charges after bringing a small steak knife to school to cut up her lunch, according to a report on MyFOXOrlando.com.

School officials say the Ocala 5th grader had brought a piece of steak for her lunch, and a four and a half inch steak knife with which to cut it. According to the report, a couple of teachers took the utensil and called authorities, who arrested the girl and took her to the county’s juvenile assessment center.

Students sitting next to the girl at lunch say she didn't threaten anyone with the knife; she just used it to cut up her food.

The girl's uncle, Kenneth Thomas, told MyFOXOrlando that his niece had to ride in the back of a patrol car.

Captain Jimmy Pogue of the Marion County Sheriff's office said the 10-year-old was not treated like a criminal.

"I don't want people to feel like we're arresting 10-year-olds, handcuffing them, and hauling them off in a back of a patrol car and taking them to jail," Pogue told MyFOXOrlando. "That's not the circumstance."

The report will be turned over to the State Attorney's office and they will decide if to follow up with the weapon's charge.

Sheesh. I remember wearing knifes on my belt going to school every day. I even remember dressing up as a cowboy one year and bringing my BB gun!!! [Eek!] [Eek!] [Eek!]

There was a news item a couple weeks back where they suspended a little kid for drawing a picture of a handgun.

When I was in high school, we used to routinely bring firearms to school and pass them around in the parking lot, I lent my shotgun to several buddies, stuff like that. This was a school with a couple thousand students, not some one room schoolhouse on the prairie.

According to Bill OReilli, it's the secular/progressive movement that is responsible for all this crap? I would give some credit to the media, in general, the friggin' edukational system, and of course, the Democrats. I don't know what it's going to take, to get our country back? I think we've already lost?

I live in a small town with a small school. The children are not allowed to make a pistol with the use of there hand and finger or they willbe sent home. First graders are not allowed to say words like hate, kill, kick youre azz, no shirts with cut off sleeves, no toy guns or anything that resembles one...Pretty sadd...

Good lord. When I was a senior in high school,1984, we did a Western play and we all had real guns that we carried in the play, and just think, no one got exspelled, no one got hurt, and now a kid can't even take a steak knife to school to cut up thier food, or draw the pic. of a gun! Just stinkin' unbeleivable! [Mad]

A British Airways flight attendant was suspended after allegedly eating a muffin left for trash on a passenger's meal tray, The Daily Mail reported.

The airline is treating the situation as a theft, the newspaper reported.

So I wonder, who do they "claim" she stole from, the trash company that collects all the trash after the airplane lands, or the airline that the trash was still aboard!

I understand exactly where you all are coming from. I feel the exact same way.

Part of the problem, and forgive me for bashing my fellow L.E.O. buddies, is stupid Cops and Administrators. There is such a thing as officer discrimination, which means in certain cases you can choose to enforce the law.

I would never choose to arrest a 10 yr. old girl for having a knife that she did nothing with other than cut her steak!!

It's a crazy world, I say we fire everyone in charge and elect a new government from the people registered on this sight. Maybe we could get some shit done!!
