Just opened the box containing my copy of Gerry's new book. Pretty exciting, since they said they wouldn't be released for shipment until October 19. Guess I have some light reading to do this weekend. [Smile]

Question, is this all new material, or a rewrite of his past work? Anyone know for sure. Either way, it's good stuff.

Lance, I thought you were going to say something about that local football game?

Oklahoma beat Texas? Oh well.

Good hunting. LB

Trying not to dwell on the disaster o' the day. LOL Good thing I spent the day at a trapping rondy visiting with ol' friends rather than sitting in front of a TV watching my B/P climb.

From the sounds of things, we just plain got beat! Having said that, they're still my team - good, bad, whatever.

On an aside, my son's team is 5-0, and the varsity squad beat last year's league champs last night, 14-0. My mother-in-law thought the game was "boring". After all, it was just one long drawn out battle between the thirty yard lines until we finally scored with 4:56 left in the game by running an interception back for a TD, then pushing another TD in on the next O series. Yep, having two teams so evenly matched that neither can score on the other for most of a game sure is boring. [Wink]

I put in my request at the local Border's to be contacted when the first copies arrive. I can't wait. Even if it mainly a rehash of the previous, it looks like it has a new cover and that's new to me!
Leonard, Stanford!? Ouch!

Read some of it this morning. Very nicely laid out with top notch color pics. I don't have Gerry's previous works, so I can't speak to whether it is a remake or not. But, it does include new chapters by Higgins, Jay and Fred Cronk. I read each of those chapters this morning and offer to each new author my accolades for a job well done.

I ordered mine directly from Krause after Paul recently announced in T&PC Extra that you could do so by calling them and getting free S/H.

Gerry is going to bring several copies to the campout for anyone who would like a personal autographed copy.

One hundred copies of the revised book showed here in Havasu Saturday. I will mail ordered copies today. I will bring copies for Gary and Leonard to the campout. Some of the material in the revised edition is about the same as appeared in the original book. All such has been updated. As noted above, new chapters by Jay, Rich, Fred and Major Boddicker appear. I have written six or eight new chapters. More than 200 color photos. More than 300 pages. As Rich observed, I will bring copies to the campout (if I can find it) for those who hanker to have an autographed copy. IBCNU . . .The Beastmaster

Good deal. I heard you have deluxe accomodations awaiting you, Mr Beastmaster. Paul has invited you to share his RV, shower, refrig, indoor plumbing, all the comforts. I'm envious.

Good hunting. LB

Leonard . . . What the hell is a "shower"? Gerry

LOL!
I can relate. Everyone in camp will by Saturday nite.

I received my copy of the book today. From the front cover to the back cover it's full of beautiful full color photos. They are worth far more than the price of the book.
Congratulations, Gerry. Very well done.

Hey Leonard . . . Can you send directions to the Camp-out? Also need the dates. See you there. BM

Kokopelli,

The T&PC lists the unAutographed versions at $20.

You want me to pick one up at the campout for you?

( I won't rub it in, that if you had sold that house, you could be riding up with Vic and I in the morning and get one first hand )

Tim, if I could sell this damn house, I would be at the campsite right now waiting for everybody to show up.

Yes, if you could pick me up a copy and get a couple of photos of Gerry signing it, that would be great!!

Looks like it will be Jan. before I can get down that way again.

Kokopelli,

I got an autographed copy for you. Shall I hold it here as an incentive for you to head south? [Wink]

Tim, much thanx!! Yeah, hang onto the book. Put it with the lure books & I'll invite you & Ms. Joyce over for a BBQ in Jan.

Actually had the house shown today!! There may be hope......

I finally purchased a copy of the new book. Wow! It is no rehash to be sure. I think that if any upstanding PETA member were to read this book today, they would be out hunting predators the next day, which would be tomorrow.
Some say that the first one is always the best but not in this case. Poopsie! LOL! I haven't even skimmed it. I am reading from cover to cover just like the first one.
Yes I can read! Doubters.......

Yes, Huntmasters even got several references. We are so honored.

And, it has quite a few new articles in it. Chapters by Higgins and Nistetter and Boddicker and Cronk, and an account of a hunt with Bill Rice and Michael McCasland at last years' Huntmasters campout. (maybe more) as Gerry might say?

Good hunting. LB
