Im travelling to the land of fruits and nuts tomorrow for the weekend. San Diego.
I hear that Cali is a non smoking state? I was wondering, can you smoke anywhere? Is it even worth taking any cigars? I dont want to get arrested for smoking on the hotel balcony or beach or anywhere for that matter....

In California they'll arrest you for smoking pretty much anything except pot.

Yeah, I heard that even Arnold got kicked out of the Statehouse, in Sacramento and pitched a tent on the lawn for his cigar smoking friends.
Good hunting. LB

And all of those Fruits and Nuts have migrated to AZ. Can't smoke inside of any public building or with in 20' of the door to one. They will even fine a business if the find a used, unwashed ashtray inside of the building.
I don't know how much of a crunch local restaurants are feeling, but I know that we have stopped going out for prime rib every weekend. We probably don't even go once a month now. It's just not as enjoyable when you feel like you are in need to rush out for an after dinner smoke.
A big Part of any enjoyable dining experience for me is to sit back with an after dinner Bourbon or Scotch and a nice cigar while listening to the music.
I now cook a lot more on the Smoker or grill, then we step out on the back deck to enjoy our sins to the worlds greatest sunsets and starry sky's.
