That's odd.
I thought the figure was $10,000 a week.

Hey Jack, are you running from the law or just enjoying life?

No law problems. The wife and I have just been having a good time although we do seem to be a bit of a jinx for some travel companies. We were in SE Alaska in July. We were supposed to go in June but they ran the boat aground and had to send it to Seattle for a dry-dock. Then on the last night somebody left a crane swung out over the side of the pier and it hit the side of the boat. Since it takes at least 3-4 days for the Coast Guard to investigate they had to cancel the next cruise and refund everybody's money plus airfare and at least one night in a hotel. And three days after we got back the company we chartered a Beaver on floats from flew one into a mountain and killed all 5 people aboard.
So if you are going to do any traveling you might want to avoid places where I am.

I am back in the US for a couple weeks. We were in SE Alaska in July. I thought AK was part of the US, since round 'bout '59. Yep, just checked Wikipedia. Still is.
Sorry Jack. You mentioned Alaska and nowhere else. Just playing an advocate of the devil.

The unbelievable thing was that there were no bugs, not a single mosquito or knat. Maybe the perfect time or maybe the wind was blowing in the right direction.
SE Alaska is definitely worth visiting. It is mainly a tourist thing but still worth seeing.

And, what a contrast? With the coming of the monsoons in AZ, there were huge hordes of mosquitoes everywhere we hunted. They were brutal.
Good hunting. LB
