All here likely know the revised edition of my Predator Calling with Gerry Blair will be available during mid-September. Contents have been reviewed and updated Chapters from our own Rich Higgens (Coyote Communication), Jay Nistetter (Call Collecting), Fred Cronk (Start your own call company), Major Boddicker (Using open reed calls) will be included. MyOwnSelf has authored seven or so new chapters. Finally, all of the B&W photos within (more than two hundred) will be replaced by color. Yummy?
You might like to know also that Predator Xtreme magazine will be running my article on digital calls, such crafted with able assistance from Gary Clevenger and Don Jamroz within the September/October issue.
Finally, YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST: K&W Publications (nee Krause) is considering my proposal to publish a book tenatively titled The Best of Gerry Blair . . . a bio that tells more than you ever wanted to know about MyOwnSelf and containing the best of the articles I have written on predator calling, trapping, big game hunting, rockhounding, jewelry making, turkey hunting and about everything excepting Sex after Sixty (insufficient data base). IBCNU, Gerry Blair

Alaskan, maybe this image will help. Gerry brought a book to share at the campout this year. It was a nice hardbound book titled "Sex After Seventy". I thumbed through it and all of the pages were blank. True story. [Smile]

Thanks to all my old old friends and to my new old friends. Thanks particularly to Leonard who posted this thread and to Rich who proved his friendship when he sat in awe as I soiled my camos as the javelina soiled his. Rich did not broadcast that info! Rich's friendship provoked hhim into washing and drying those soiled. camo's.
I will have pre-publication order forms available at Norco next month. Will post ordering info here when I receive such from the publisher. Nothing definate on the "Best of Gerry Blair" as yet. Stay tuned. Gerry

Andy Guy . . . The shooting stick, cane and pee diverter works well. Trouble is, such is getting to be intensely odiferious. I am thinking of giving such to Rich H. for Xmas. Don't tell him as I want to surprise him. Gerry

I will be properly surprised and give it a place of honor on my treasure shelf.

Anyone want to help me name the new book? Considered "The Life and Times of Gerry Blair" but feared Grizzly Adams might get pissed off. Also considered "The Best of Gerry Blair" but at 76 the best is a dim memory. Jay Nistetter has suggested "Me and MooseDick". Have I told you about the time a nice young man from Indiana or some such stopped in Flagstaff on his way to Disneyland? Said he had one request . . . to see and hold MooseDick. "Why sure Son", I said as I looked him in the eye and slowly unzipped my pants. Hero worship turned to alarm and then sheer terror. "Please Sir", he blubbered. "I did not mean that MooseDick". I was talking about your ten gauge". True story. Well, sorta true anyway.

I have a picture of Gerry demonstrating that "device". The problem is, at first I thought he had his index finger resting on the ramp, but now I'm wondering if he may have been exposing his Beastmaster?

If I was home right now, I could access my machine and we could figure it out?

Good hunting, from Peoria. LB

"Gee, Gerry, what part of the moose did you get?"
The Life and Times of Gerry Blair.

Title based loosely on the old joke about the 1904 introduction of the hot dog (??? I'm making this up as I go....) at the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Expo held in St. Louis:

Two ladies walking through the fair grounds, each secretly eying their latest food purchase. One to the other, " Gee, Mable, what part of the dog did you get?"

Gee Gang, I am underwhelmed. Actually, your fertile (well fertilized) brains have come up with some keepers. I might print nothing but titles and leave out all else. Rich, I hope you are not pee'ed off about the pee trough thing. I was almost sure you would have something to suggest. Speakimg (actually, writing) about Rich, you might like to know that the article on misting writ large by Rich and MyOwnSelf, will appear in the next issue of PredatorXtreme. Y'all Come!
