FOXNEWS.COM HOME > BUSINESS In-N-Out Burger Suing American Fork Burger Joint Tuesday, June 19, 2007
E-MAIL STORY PRINTER FRIENDLY VERSION SALT LAKE CITY — Fans of the California burger chain In-N-Out Burger say Chadders in American Fork is the closest you can get to and In-N-Out burger in Utah.
But that may not be the case soon, and the greasy California-based institution is taking exception to Chadders similar style.
In-N-Out has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Chadders.
In-N-Out says everything from Chadders building to its menu is a rip-off of In-N-Out Burger.
They say even the way the food at Chadders is packaged is the same.
Now a federal judge will decide if Chadders is too similar.
In-N-Out Burger has plans to open their first Utah location near St. George by early 2008.

Leonard, the old In-N-Out over by 5 points on Valley I believe, had to be one of the oldest in the State. Almost everything good was invented in California first, always someone trying to cash in on it. Many things bad were invented there to, but we won't talk about that lol.

Where was the first KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken)?
Utah
Spanish Fork is taking a hit. Just last Sunday a young boy was killed by a black bear. Pulled right from his tent while he was sleeping. He was in a tent with his brother. His parents were also sleeping in a tent nearby. His screams woke them. Sad to hear stuff like that.
A little hunting pressure would solve a lot of these problems. If I was his parents I'd sue the Fish and Game for non proper game managment. If the boy would have killed the bear I bet the Fish and Game would fine the boy with some sort of game violation.

I'm still a little peeved that whoever wrote the FOXNews story used the word "Greasy" California-based institution.
That's a total bunch of bullshit. It's tradmark "Double/Double" is literally, a Southern California Institution. I like 'em. And, they are not greasy. I have been eating them since before I was a teenager. I'm very offended.
I know they have 4 or 5 in Las Vegas, and at least a couple in Phoenix area and several in the Bay Area. Last I heard, there are over 150 locations, but I always went to the original, on Francisquito in Baldwin Park.
By the way, Danny. That one in El Monte was not actually an In-N-Out. It was Russ Burgers , and the sign said "ENTER" and "OUT". Actually, back then, they made a (slightly) better burger than the In-N-Out, but I don't know 'bout now? There is a McDonalds right across the street, now, where the lion farm used to be. The Burger Q in La Puente was pretty good too. Hey, remember The PIT, on Garvey? Best chilli dogs I ever tasted, bar done! You know, we have "The Hat" in Upland, now. Famous Pastrami Dips. Man, the Jolly Jug in north El Monte, on Peck Rd. had the best French Dips! Remember Crawford's at Five Points? Original Walmart type of place, way before it's time.
Okay, okay, get off the nostalgia bus.
Good hunting. LB

Ah, a Tommy's double chili cheese burger would go good about now.

There's an In-N-Out 5 miles from my house. But I drive 15 miles to Whataburger for a double meat with jalapeno.

Yeah, I was going to mention Tommy's. That double chili cheese is a tasty (and sloppy) treat. Especially after a Dodger's game. They have opened new locations, there is one down the hill from me, in Ontario.
Hey, where did McDonald's start, eh? They hate California, but every fad or trend in the 50's and 60's (worth a damn) started here. Growing up, this was where it was at. American Grafitti, it is said that some of those stories came right from local legend. Rebel Without a Cause wasn't filmed in Minnesota, Marlon Brando's motorcycle club, look what that started, (and who knew?) now the Yuppies own it. Quick question, where's Disneyland? Ever been there in the last fifty years, or so?
Now, it's the Land of the Fruits and Nuts. I'm moving!
Good hunting. LB
edit: yeah, I like the Jalapeño burger at Carl's Jr. that and the Six dollar Burger. I'm not on board with Whataburger, though. No accounting for taste? [ June 21, 2007, 07:57 AM: Message edited by: Leonard ]

Leonard, I hope you do move out of that Fruit and Nut capitol.CA has some great hunting, deer, bear, pigs, some awesome national forests and a lot of technology for today has come from there. Also, this website. By clicking on this, we can see the problem that I have with the state. This has a tendency to spread like a plague from that area. http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/object/article?f=/c/a/2004/06/26/BAG7B7CDMQ1.DTL&o=0 I enjoyed an In and Out burger in Oregon but when I tried one in northern AZ, what a disappointment it was! One AZ place I like is Bill Johnson's Big Apple. It has an all you can eat ribs dinner for $12.95. mmmmmmmmmm hmmmmmmmmm Oh, and by the way, one day I hope to try this place out. http://www.usatoday.com/news/offbeat/2006-12-09-naughty-nurses_x.htm [ June 21, 2007, 07:41 PM: Message edited by: Dusty Hunter ]
