It's good to here that you're slayin' a few Sly. My KS. bird last year had 3 beards and some pretty good hooks, took it with a bow on video. I've got one tagged in KS. and am heading back again Wed. to try for my second. First one had 8.5" beard, some hoping for something another year or two older this next trip. Maybe I should take the shotgun this time.......Nah, that'd be too easy!! [Razz]
Good luck!
Kent, have you got your tags filled!

I was in KS last Friday and Sat Morning. I saw a lot of birds. All the gobblers were young and I didn't shoot. Never ran across a mature tom. I went to MO after that and Shaw put me on a good tom. 26 lbs with 1-3/8 spur on one leg. The other was gimped up. Shaw sure knows his turkeys.

Yes, I have no doubt that Randy Shaw knows his stuff about turkeys, and I believe he knows a lot about coyotes, too. I can tell a wolfer when I see one.

That applies to a lot of guys around here, you too, RagnCajn! I'm glad to see a lot of friendships coming from the campout.

Good hunting. LB

Well, got lucky and dodged the tornados this weekend in KS., (Kent's/seeinspots house got hit and is a total loss, no injurys to the family, so prayers for them are needed) and had two good days of weather to hunt in. I took a friend back with me who had never killed a turkey before. Our first morning out, he filled both tags with nice birds. I stuck to my bow, and never filled my second tag. I think he was a happy hunter, but now he thinks it's easy. It still amazes me that turkey can't compute that a blind out in the middle of no where equals danger, but they don't.

Nice birds, you know it always amazes me what will walk right by a ground blind as well, mine seems to stick out like a sore thumb but the critters dont see it that way.Never been any where near a tornado,I think I"d like to keep it that way.Weather and all sounds like you had a great hunt
Hope everything gets better soon for Kent and family what a loss, glad nobody was injured.
