Wonderful article Cal'! I really enjoyed it. I have seen the E.L.K videos and I really enjoyed watching the dogs work. I am looking forward to watching your video(insert an image of Loco' with his tail between between his legs, much like a small dog used for doggin', for not having seen it yet!)!

My one and only experience with a dog on stand was an unwelcomed one. I called a coyote that stopped about 200 yards out (and much lower than my stand). The stupid ranch hound followed my truck for more than a mile and even follwed me to my set-up. When the coyote arrived, the dog had no idea. But the knuckled headed dog dropped to ground on his back and began wallowing around which sent the coyote running away! Perhaps the coyote was one of the young ones you mentioned in the article.

Rich, I received my first issue of Predator Extreme today! Thank you for including me and thanks to the generous donation of I'm not sure who!?!?

A very well written piece Cal', way to go! [Smile]

I just read the article last night. Whats with the "lure dog" thing Calvin? Thats getting awful close to that made up moniker of "tolling" dog:)
Must have been an editorial mistake, when they meant to print "decoy" dog?

I actually had a couple of issues with poetic prose that the editors chose to use. I'm personally not fond of the term Doggin' either. And I never wrote the term lure dog either. The first time they use the word "yote" in one of my stories, I'll quit!
