Wasn't me Leonard,
I've been gone all day.
Posted by varmit hunter (Member # 37) on March 18, 2007, 09:50 PM:
Leonard, I don't think you have a full appreciation for the number of folks on this planet that won't to be a PACKMAN.
Just the other day I was contacted by a Arab Sheik I guided on a frog hunt years ago. He wonted to know if Tim would swap his Pakman title for the Sheiks Porsche.I told him I would not even mention it to Tim until it had four well drive and a camo paint job.

LOL,Damn you ronnie!LOL I don't want to laugh myself to death.LOL
Posted by Tim Behle (Member # 209) on March 19, 2007, 05:56 AM:
Was that Sheik's English name Karl Robert?
We always called him Sheiks Ka-Bob.
Posted by varmit hunter (Member # 37) on March 19, 2007, 07:48 AM:
No Tim that wasn't him. He had about six names. The third one was Hopdulla. We just called him Hoppy. He didn't stay long his bed sheet kept getting caught in the air boat prop, and we had to spend most of the night unwinding him.

Slow day, two registrations, one of which, from an exotic location: Canada. LB
Ronnie, did the camel jockey use his AK with a bananna clip?
Excuse me, don't want to get nailed!
(should be "magazine" but it don't sound right?)
Posted by varmit hunter (Member # 37) on March 19, 2007, 12:43 PM:
Leonard. Down here we ask someone how many clips they have in a magazine holder. I have even said that after I dropped the clip when it ran dry, I fumbled the second magazine. Both seem to work for us swamp rats.
Posted by Rich (Member # 112) on March 19, 2007, 01:01 PM:
Leonard must like banana magazines?
Posted by Steve Craig (Member # 12) on March 19, 2007, 01:42 PM:
Leonard,
I am probably the guilty party. I joined a Crossbow forum that has posters from all over the world. Alot from Canada too.
My signature has my web site, and a link to this site too.
A dollar to a dime it is me.
Steve

Steve Craig with a towel for a hat?
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on March 19, 2007, 03:30 PM:
It's not a problem, Steve. You're not "guilty" of even a minor infraction, as the fuzz might say.
Good hunting. LB
PS hey, do you have a couple prospective sites close by, for the campout?
Posted by Tim Behle (Member # 209) on March 19, 2007, 05:31 PM:
Rich,
I guess you've never met Steve?
Posted by Rich (Member # 112) on March 19, 2007, 06:26 PM:
Tim Behle,
I wish you would have shown me that photo before I stuck my foot in my mouth.
Please forgive me Allah Steve, I knew not what I was saying.
Posted by Steve Craig (Member # 12) on March 19, 2007, 08:34 PM:
Tim, you turd.
And to think I was going to let you shoot a lion at the campout this year. Just because you were a nice guy and a good cook and all!
Now I have to rethink this some after that pic.
Posted by Steve Craig (Member # 12) on March 19, 2007, 08:43 PM:
Leonard,
Got a dandy place all picked out. 6800 feet elevation, Ponderosa trees, 25 miles south of Flagstaff. Cool temps, Coyotes all over the place from 3000 feet to 8000 or so. Bobcats numbers at all time highs. And 2 big Tom lions within a few miles to call. Dead center between their territories. 3 females overlapping both Toms. One with a couple of kittens unless the hound guys nailed them within the last couple weeks. Buy fall they will not have any spots left, so legal to shoot.
Plenty of firewood all over the place. You guys more than welcome to wipe out the coyotes as that makes for more cats. Great grey fox areas all around too.
Just tell me when!
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on March 20, 2007, 11:19 AM:
Two, today. Someone called Tommanfanny from France (of course) and another from Greece.
Posted by Melvin (Member # 634) on March 20, 2007, 11:43 AM:
Steve,is it hard for a non resident to get a mountain lion tag? I would also like to know, what is the best time of year to hunt them.Do i need a guide?
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on March 20, 2007, 02:53 PM:
And they continue! Another from Greece, and one from (call out the reinforcements) IDAHO!
Good hunting. LB
edit: No, Melvin. You do not NEED a guide, but that would improve your odds dramatically. Non *** tag is $225 and the basic license is $151.50(?)

Yeah, Leonard is right.
The AZ G&F wants to get rid of the lions, so they raised the license and tag fees......????????
It dont make no sense.
Cold calling for lions is tough. A guide is always a good idea if you do not know the country, but not a necessity. You do not need on in AZ. You can buy the tag and license over the counter.

Thank you, guys. That is a lot cheaper than a colorado elk tag.If i can get a hold of JC Conners and find out where that ****** *********** is at,i just might make me a trip out there.
Would that license include calling coyote and bobcat?

Melvin,
You can call them. But you can only legally shoot bobcats, fox and badgers from August 1 through March 31.
Coyotes can be taken all year, and in MOST ( but not all, hunting units, Lions can be taken all year.
If you are planning a trip, hold off until Fall when we get our campout scheduled. Attendance to that campout is worth 100X what Leonard charges for the price of admission. Maybe even more.
I still can't understand why people love to go Elk hunting. It's gotta be just like shooting open range cattle on stilts! Where is the fun in that?
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on March 21, 2007, 06:53 AM:
Also been a few South Dakota registrations, one this morning from a state trapper, no less. LB
Posted by Rich Higgins (Member # 3) on March 21, 2007, 07:16 AM:
South Dakota State Trappers don't actually exist. They are mythical beasts, much like Sasquatch. Mother coyotes tell stories about them to their pups to scare them into line.
Posted by Melvin (Member # 634) on March 21, 2007, 08:43 AM:
Thanks for the info,Tim.I'm not sure if i can get the timing right for the campout. To be honest,i won't know for sure, for a couple of months,if i get to make the trip out there. So far, things look good, but a lot of things could happen between now and then.

Ukraine?

Leonard,
Crossbows are the weapon of choice in Europe and really gaining here in the US. The modern Xbow is capable of over 100 yard groups of under 3 inches. And they still have more kinetic energy at 100 yards than a compound does at 40.
Every time I post it looks like you get another registration! My link must be working out for you here.
Huntmasters has gone International!

Melvin: Like Steve said you will have a great time if you decide to come to the campout. I did'nt see anyone there with horns or pitch forks, i did notice Leonard had something tucked away in his back pocket, could of been a forked tail!
Posted by Tim Behle (Member # 209) on April 02, 2007, 08:39 PM:
Tim,
That was his Prayer book. He's so close to God that the Pope himself calls Lenbo twice a week just to ask for advise!

At the campout did Leonard read it to Tom in the tent before bed time.
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on April 02, 2007, 09:49 PM:
all campouts have been strictly "don't ask, don't tell", we don't want to scare off the customers.
I watched Deliverance, the other night. Still ends the same. Squeal like a pig! CAJUN RIDES-$5
....Lord, I apologize for that, and please be with the pigmy's in Africa.
Good hunting. LB

LOL....I saw it again the other night too Leonard, & I thought about you when he started in with the "Squeeeeeel , squeeeeel like a pig". That must be your favorite line from a movie.
I did get my wife to watch it with me since she`d never seen it, after it was over she looked at me & said "that was dumb" ......women! they don`t know nuthin about good movies.
