I tried to call ya several times tonight. My Gawd... The vocalizations coming from my coyotes tonight was incredible! It went on for sometime and I know if I put the cell phone towards them, you would have definately heard.

The one down and to my far right somewhere around 750 or plus yards started. He howled then he barked 4 times. The one out straight from me about 500 yards barked 3 times. I howled once and barked twice. Then the one down and to my right howled and barked 4 times again. I howled once. Another chimed in over on the neighbors farm probably about 1000 yards or so with 3 barks then a howl. The one straight out from me went down the hill towards the one to my right and lone howled. No one answered him then he continued away from us to the neighbors because I heard him yip howl a little bit later. The one that was to my down and right came up top where the other one first was and then the challenge began... lol

We howled and barked and barked some more... MYGAWD... talk about a regular conversation. He was challenging me. I'm gonna try and go back up around 3 in the morning and I'm taking my she-howler and do some estrus chirps.

There was just enough snow to light up the fields but not enough to cover the hay so it was near impossible to see if he came out anywhere up top. By 3 a.m. I should have a little bit of a moon sliver to give me a little more showing. But don't worry, if I get them talking again, I won't call you at that time in the wee hours... lol

I REALLY need to find some kind of recording equipment... It was Awesome!

Way to go, Sheri. Isn't it fun to do that? Kinda makes sitting on a deer stand look boring, huh? (And those guys think deer hunting is "fun".)

Sheri, I enjoy that part of calling more than any other. What call/howler did you use?

Lance, It sure was fun! The adrenaline rush did my ole ticker some good [Big Grin]

Rich, I used the Mad Growl. I can't believe that buck call and the coyote sounds it is producing! So doggone easy to use too. There was hardly any differance in the tone of that call to the coyotes last night. I guess you could say the coyotes confirmed that [Wink]

Well, let's just say that my alarm went off this morning at 2:30 but I didn't [Big Grin] Oh well, I'll get back out there!
