Well, Let me think-- Yea -- pretty good week-end. Me and my two boys went to the trappers convention.
My son Jake took first in musket toss (I think he had a little better form than you Jay-- but it was close) [Wink]
Jake also took first place the AZ. State calling contest in the expert division. They said that he was the youngest person that ever won that division (18 yrs old).
LD (Little Dan )my youngest son, took second place in the youth division.
I entered my first state compition and took third in the novice division.
We won some really nice custom made calls. I want to thank all of the call makers who donated calls. A horn howler made by GC-- sweet sounding-- real nice. 2 Closed reed calls made by Brent.(Kee-Kee) great looking and great sounding. Also a beautiful laminated open reed call made by 5 0 2006 (I think that what it says) These calls are almost too pretty to use-- notice I said ALMOST [Wink] [Wink]

Congratulations JD. I think they should have sprung for a six foot tall trophy.

Jason beat out some tough competition. There were four past winners there that I know of and three of us, myself included, didn't even place this year. Dick Snell who won back in the 80s took second and Tyler took third.
Congratulations to Jason, LD and DJ, you're a triple threat now. [Smile]
DJ what division are you and Jason competing in the monthly scramble hunts?

Rich,
I talked to Eddie M. (a board member) and he said we were going back to the way it was before on the scramble hunts!!! [Big Grin] AMEN!!! TEAMS competing against each other. Not competing against each other on the same team. That was the best news I've heard in a year as far as the club goes. I think they knew how most of us felt on the issue.
So that being said , see you and Tyler in September. One thing is, it'll be me and LD for the first few hunts (Jake got football) but we should be OK [Wink] Might find some one that will hunt us . [Big Grin]

DJ, missed you guys at the meeting last night.
The Sept. Scramble hunt is a novice hunt and we are all supposed to campout at Blue Ridge Reservoir for the weekend.
It will be a lot cooler up there than down in the desert.
Better get you a novice lined up.
Tyler and I each have one.
