Yep. I was on Table Rock Lake three days last weekend and saw several water snakes and cottonmouths, swimming and laying in trees.
Thats a good sized rattler, isnt it? Glad you didnt step on it....

I ran over two diamond backs on the way to the feed store last night. About two miles apart, first ones I've seen this year.

My daughter lives in Marin. (full of liberal hot tubbers) When she was here for the funeral, my grandson, Aaron asked her if he could have her Saturn.
Corey (husband) bought a 911 Targa, which the seller brought down to Apple, and then he drove the Porche home from Cupertino, a distance of 60 miles.
But what about the Saturn? It has been parked in Apple's parking lot for two years, and they just have not got around to donating it to charity. It's in good shape ('95) 90,000 miles, they just don't have any place to park it, at the house.
All this is a long way of getting to the point; which is, guess who had the time on his hands, to drive Aaron up there and put it on a UHaul transporter, because it was "non Op" and the battery was dead and he didn't trust the tires, and it just seemed easier than getting it smogged, and insurance, etc. etc.
Oh yeah, the point. About a thousand miles of hiway driving and we saw a number of snakes but it's hard to I.D. a snake at 65MPH. More snakes than dead coyotes.
Even shorter reply...yeah, they are out there, be observant.
Good hunting. LB

Doug,
I forgot where your new home is?
We don't have those big ol' diamond-backs here; our snakes are called Western Prairie Rattlers. They usually don't get much bigger than 2 1/2 or 3 feet. I'd say that one is a monster!!!
Looks like that snake got shovelified! ![[Wink]](wink.gif) [ May 04, 2006, 09:34 PM: Message edited by: Locohead ]

I heard they don't die 'til sundown? ~~~~~
So that's the deal? He was ready for a new one. When I was down there, he was using a laptop?
Good hunting. LB
