After a long wait, and one delay after another to both getting my rifle to the gunsmith, and then having to wait again to get it back.
I finally got to take possession of it again last weekend.
But then the wind was screaming during all daylight hours for the last week so I couldn't shoot it.
I got up yesterday morning to no wind. Did a little load development and found a load that will shoot just under one inch at 300 yards.
I couldn't make up a drop chart off of the computer, because when the wife cleaned up the house a couple of weeks ago, she boxed up my Chronograph and can't remember where she put the box.
So I worked my way back from 300 yards to five hundred yards, then onto 800 yards and finally out to 1,000 yards.
It'll be easy to remember the settings to go back to 1,000 yards again. Just crank in all of the elevation that the scope will hold, then hold 10" high.
I already have 20 MOA bases on the rifle, but my new 20 MOA rings should be here by next weekend.
I hope.
Murphy hates me, and I think he's a prick.

And to think I'm a point and shoot kind of guy.
Screw Murphy.

Here's the part that you might appreciate Tripp.
What I just posted was the shortened version. I woke up this morning in the mood to write, then spent well over an hour detailing the aggravations I've had getting that rifle ready for the next match.
I typically copy and paste things to an email message for a spell checker.
This time I thought I'd put it though Microsoft Word and check my grammar too.
I opened up a blank document, clicked on Paste and the computer locked up.
****,
Ten more seconds and I would have clicked on the save button.
Double ****

Holy crap I hate when that happens. It used to happen to me on a regular basis until I stopped taking Metacmucil and retained some of my brains.
I save after each paragraph, but to a new file. When finished I make a backup of the final file and kill all the ones I've saved along the way. Trouble? Yes, but when you write for a living, you literally (and literarily) can't afford to let Murphy catch you with your drawers down.
Write on!

Tim,
If you download the Google toolbar, they have a nifty ABC Check function on there that checks the spelling of any text message you type on any web page. Pretty handy. You may have noticed notably fewer typos in my posts the past week or so. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

That another one of those gay cruise links?
I booked two staterooms and a broom closet before I realized what the other one was.
Bastards.
