Following the lead of Kansas and Nebraska, Senators Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer praised California lawmakers and Governor Terminator for passing the "Right to Carry" law in the Golden State.

Good hunting. LB

That's cruel.

Kansas passed it, but the legislature didn't pass appropriations to fund local agencies at the county level to perform background checks. Those same agencies are financially strapped and right now, don't foresee being able to fund those checks themselves. Therefore, although the law is passed, word is that they consider it doubtful that anyone will actually get to the point where the permits are issued, and those legislators that are talking say that they fully expect to revisit the issue in the next few sessions. Politics as usual in that they make us think they really did something, when all they actually did was stall having to disappoint us once again.

I've been so distracted that I forgot to say that the post was an April Fool. I lied. CA will never pass a right to carry.

I was so harshly reminded of the rope-a-dope that our legislature played on us, that I didn't even notice. Oh well. For most Kansans, the only real difference will be that we have a permit now to do what we've been doing all along.
