Well, it's that time of the year again. The time when we flatlanders roll up all those California mudslides and Gulf Coast hurricanes into frolicking tornadoes and baseball sized hail. We started out early this year with our first official tornado warning in January. First time I ever saw that. Haven't sounded the sirens here yet, but we did have one on the ground in the SE part my my county this afternoon. As soon as I walked outdoors this morning to turn out that new coyote dog of mine, you could feel it in the air. A certain kind of energy. Either that, or the tacos I had for dinner last night. Either way, I just can't imagine not chasing storms in the springtime. Kinda like imagining not being able to call coyotes. Time to charge up the camera batteries and be ready for the "chase".
Maybe I'll get some pics to share this year. Last year was a bust.

Lance, what did you think of that deal on the news a few days ago? Some guy got picked up and dumped 400? yards away?
I was in a tornado when I was a kid, in Minnesota. It was a very big deal, I had never seen seagulls before. Big trees down all over town. I thought it was great, the local golf course was a marsh for over a year afterwards.
Good hunting. LB

You got it, Loco. And Leonard, I read about that kid online, if that's the one in MO. Kinda the thing you'd rather hear about then experience firsthand. Big assed storms are like rollercoasters - exciting and a blast to experience as long as everyone finishes the ride in one piece.

Just yesterday we had a rather weak tornado pass from south-east Omaha, cross the missouri river into western Council Bluffs. The path was about 100 yards wide but they estimate the wind speed at only 80mph or so. A few buildings damaged, some trees uprooted but that is about it.

I love storms. I like to go out and watch when possible. I tried to get my wife to go to "tornado alley" for vacation one year to chase storms, but she wont do it.
Ive only had the chance to see a handful of tornados in my life, so far, and never been in one. I was a few miles from several and the closest was one dropping out of a cloud in a field along I-44 near Lebanon MO. That was pretty cool. Spooky, but cool.
Pics, Pics, Pics, please Lance, Pics!! We have a few every year but Im not in anywhere near the position your in to watch storms.....
One more thing, is Dan Quayle watching? Is it tornado or tornadoe? ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

You know what, Andy? I think our mutual buddy, JH is responsible for labeling every Republican President or Vice President as stupid or retarded.
A few Democrat Gems.
"I invented the Internet"
"I actually voted for it, before I voted against it"
"I feared for my life as that rabbit attacked my boat"
"I never had sex with that woman"
Good hunting. LB
