I do not know about you guys but I always carry a survival pack when in the back country. Here is what mine carries:
1x 8x10 heavu duty tarp
8x tent pegs
1x hammer
1x hatchet
1x large first aid kit
1x 50 feet 1200 pound test line
1x 100 feet light line (T50 Cord)
1x fleece blanket *water proofed*
1x good knife
1x utility knife
1x sharpener
1x Flashlight
2x light sticks
3x M.R.E.'s
1x change of clothes (pants, shirt, thermal, gloves, socks, light shoes, hat)
1x tent
1x 9mm pistol and box of rounds
1x magnesium fire starter
3x boxes of waterproof matches
1x small shovel
1x hand held radio
All that together is about 25 pounds I always carry not including my rifle/shotgun. Anyone else go out prepared?

You have to be anywhere else in these parts to be more than a half-mile from the nearest road. I do carry a small roll of toilet paper but I've never had to go so bad that I'd consider it a matter of survival. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

I keep a jug of water in back of truck, always have my pocket knife,and maybe a paper towel wadded up in my pocket for ass wipe.
Do you carry all that stuff with you when hunting? or is that stockpile stored in the truck?

I carry it with me at all times when out in the bush. Got used to carrying a mob of gear in the army so it was no big thing to modify my pack at home. We always hike out at least 5-10 kilometers from the truck when we set up for the hunt. Mainly use it for deer and elk, but carry it when I go out and about.
Also, forgot some items.
1x binos
2x 1 quart water bottles
1x bottle of water purifying pills.

I always carry T.P. too. I have had those emergencies...many, many times!!! Great stuff, I hope the inventor got very, very rich, I love it!!! My favorite is that really cool roll of T.P. that comes with-out the roll in the middle. He ought get rich too! Those guys are heros man. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

A .45 ACP & a can of chew, most times I don`t even take the pistol. Water & TP in the truck but a sock will work for butt wipe or a piece of shirt or the like, I guess I travel comparitively light.

Sorry. I use the metric system only for distance when shooting and for how far I travel when walking in the bush.
For everything else I am as pigheaded as the rest of us true blue Americans for not switching over. Just got used to it when in the service, and seeing my hunting partner is also ex-service we tend to keep reenforcing it in each other.
Seriously though guys, even if you do not need all the gear it is a good workout carrying it.

Edit: Another good use for the TP roll is as an attachment to your favorite call. Adds a good 50-60 meters. <Laugh>

I gotta to hand it too the toilet paper. I made this chilli one time and then went hunting the next day and all of a sudden it HIT me and I didn't take into consideration all the gear I had on I couldn't get my gear off fast enough, but I managed to get them off and then ![[Mad]](mad.gif)
BOOOOOOOOOM! scent management was not my primary concern anymore. I damm near shit my new camos. When I finished the paper came in handy I felt better, but Im sure those satellite people had a good laugh. I look back on that and I consider myself a SURVIVOR!
