Is anyone going to the ATA Fur Sale, up in Globe on Saturday February 11th ?

I saved a couple of Kitt fox to give me an excuse to go, then found out that it is the same morning as a shooting match at Three Points.

I can't decide which I'd rather go to.

Tim. This is a no braner. Send Joyce to the fur sale. She can order herself a full length Lynx coat, and you can go to the match.

Can't believe you didn't think of that. Six to seven grand to make it to a match, chump change for you.

Actually, I think you have it backwards. I bet she'd rather I go to the match. The Fur Sale is in Globe, No malls, craft shops or fancy restaurants there.

But to go to the shooting match, I have to pass though the south side of Tucson. Home of Joe's Crab Shack, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Half a dozen shopping malls, Three stained glass supply stores, and way too many craft shops.

No to mention I'd probably run into Glen at the match and end up with him doing a barrel set back on my big gun.

I could save at least $1,000 by going to the fur sale and drinking beer with Rich, Jay and Fred.

Tim, You need stained glass?. Judy went out of the business. We have tons. We they relevel the house they are going to have to triple the concrete under her stained glass room.

. Ronnie, stained glass is a passionate hobby of mine. I'm not great at it but it keeps me out of the bars. The nearest store is over 50 miles away in Tucson. And both of us hates driving in that city. This house is full of projects and the extended family has received it as gifts for the last 5 years. You have an email coming.

LOL! Naw. I don't even know what stained glass really is. I guess it's the fancy stuff like you see in church windows, etc.? Just pictured a smooth piece of red glass to replace the dykem-covered clear piece in my Q Beam. Then I started thinking of the possibilities. [Smile]

I agree Nancy, a new Topic of Hunters Wives Hobbies. You start it and I'll jump in and have Tim help getting a picture on the site. That's an area that eludes me. Now, you said Leonard designed one. Does he dabble in the "arts" too? Just this week I was trying to talk Tim into building a gun cabinet where I could design and make the glass front. But NO.... [Mad]

he doesn't want to work with wood and tools. Just wants to build (many) big guns.

Well, I have what I consider to be worthless piece of furniture in my den. It's a nice (12?) gun cabinet with a plain glass front. Nothing is in it besides trinkets, photos, etc. The glass slides, but it would be no trick to use hinges and a wood frame and inset the stained glass.

Also, I didn't fabricate our windows, just drew what I wanted and had a shop do the work. Not especially fancy. Nancy just left, but she read the above, asked me to take and post a photo, but goldarn it, I need to figure out how to size my pics so they aren't such a problem to load.

After moving into our new house here in the desert, I just had to make my own mark inside this house. Here are the dormer windows in the dinning room.
From left to right is all one image broken into three sections. Each one having a special feature.

This one has the yucca plant in bloom.

This middle one has a coyote.

And right has an eagle.

One thing I've grown to love living here in the desert is the color of the cotton candy skies.

Those are absolutely gorgeous stain glass windows. I am very fond of Iris's so that one I would love to have! Very nice art work they are all just beautiful!

Wow! All these stained glasses are beautiful. Leonard, I did something similar to those at our house in Indy. Sold the house w/glass.

Just oil cutter and nips. But afterwards I bought a grinder and it's still in the box.
Drew it out on the kitchen table and colored it with crayons. Was a 2 month project and way more than anticipated.

I dabbled with leaded glass but the limitations weren't to my liking. Foils are the way to go.

What a perfect place for the stain glass in you home. You must get some great reflexions coming thru the colors. We get shadows dancing across the ceiling from the pool water, during the day.
