It's damned near 70-degrees outside today when our normal hi temp is supposed to be mid-30's. Been like this for three weeks and more. As if that isn't weird enough, one of my co-workers just got back from a week in Hawaii where she said they had to cancel a bike ride they planned one day because the snow on the bike trail was too deep! Now, I know that some of those peaks in Aloha country get some powder once in a while, but how often will Kansas be warmer in January than Hawaii? I can't wait for next November to get here. I thought I heard on the weather that this year was the warmest on record for us, Ok. and that it was the 5th coldest on record for Alaska.

No telling what will happen next, 90# hailstones?

Cdog911,
You got that right. 50,s here in western Iowa today, febr. 1st, 2006. If I had a bit of money I would go out and invest in some new snow blowers. The local stores are ready to break even on those things if they can sell em at all. I have used my snow blower exactly twice so far this winter, and that is some kind of a record.

Lance, I know about that bike ride. We saw so many people banged up from riding down that grade, even getting on the plane in crutches. But, I still want to do it, next time. Death wish.

Good hunting. LB

I'd go find your coat Lance. It looks like the temps will be dropping! I don't know about Kansas, but today is the last warm 50's degree day, tomorrow is in the high 30's, Saturday (if i'm healthy I'll be calling all day) it's going to be in the low 30's, and then in the 20's for highs and teens for lows all next week, which is "normal" temps for here.

I've sent out notices to the coyotes I'll be hunting this weekend notifying them of the upcoming cold front and that they need to be eating everything they hear in distress on Saturday. [Wink]

later,
scruffy
