I wonder how many fell victim to the same fate.

Last year while bow fishing we found a coon swimming across the lake. He was 600 yards from the bank and still trucking. That coyote should have gone to the same swimming school as that coon. Thats determination for sure. I wonder if the grass was greener on the other side. [Big Grin]

Shame he couldn't write a "HELP ME" sign....

But, I wonder about the average mortality? Once we discount, getting shot, and ran over by a vehicle. I know that, to this day, I have never come across a coyote that died of old age or a heart attack, or one that got caught in a flash flood or brush fire?

Of all the ones, I've killed only a handfull. Were what I'd guess over 4-5yrs old. Most appeared to be 1-3 yrs old.

Perhaps the "Real old ones". Lay low-n-tight, like a trophy fish. A guy hardly ever catches [Confused]
