What was I doing for entertainment last night?

Was I coyote hunting, cleaning my guns, watching hunting videos.....? No. I was listening to an Operatic performance at our local Jr. College.

I must have some culture....just didn't know it.

Gerald,
I hope that more than makes up for the rest of us barbarians. Well, actually, Leonard has been to Dr. Phil, and Higgins said he wanted to be Oprah, so it looks like there are less barbarians here than I thought. But I believe that most of the rest of us are pretty well un-cultured (if there is such a word).

And no, I don't have any damn Grey Poupon!

So Gerald, were you really listening to the music, or trying to record the high notes for a new distress tape??

Opera, in Waco? Now, I have heard of everything!

Good hunting. LB

PS what opera? Hope (at least) it was Italian and not German?

Actually I could hardly understand a word of it. The Soprano was cute though and I got to hold..I mean shake her hand afterwards. [Smile]

It was a performance of the two main stars that were supposed to perform in a Opera that was cancelled back in May. The fundraiser did not make, due to lack of ticket sales.

The Baritone is a very good friend of ours from way back (married to my wife's best friend). I tell him that he sings well enough that I will let him sing at my funeral some day. Can you imagine an Operatic rendition to my all time favorite song STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN. [Wink]

I told him Friday night that his singing is much better than his 9 iron which is something I can do more equal to his ability to sing. We have a dog bowl decorated with glitter that can change hands after each round of golf.

Hey Todd I was actually more interested in whether or not the cricket flying around over the stage was going to fly into one of them's mouth during one of those long notes. Our cricket invasion is on for the year. [Roll Eyes]

Gerald, you got to love driving under the street lights and hearing the pops. Seems that there is a cat under every street light too. I saw a Fox catching crickets under a street light in Brownwood one night. You might want to put that to good use and make a popping cricket call???

Just a thought.

That "culture" thing is hard to deal with, for sure. In the interest of proudly representing hunters everywhere, and getting %^&$% I've endured the following... and then some...

I coped with Yul Brenner in the King and I, and Oh, Calcutta, who the critics only said, " it just goes to prove that there are some parts of the human body that you can not choreograph...

The thing that slayed me most was seeing the "mutt" at the end of Annie that came out on the stage and did a bow for the audience... Canines deserve more credit than we give them!!!
