While upgrading my wardrobe at a local Value Village, I found a tan t-shirt with a coyote howling (standing) and a raptor (in flight) against an orange field with "Call of the Wild" printed.

According to 'The Book' (required reading) "Call of the Wild" was Circe's slogan. Did they ever offer t-shirts?? Maybe I should be displaying this thing with my call collection instead of wearing it.

I seriously doubt it, but I have been wrong many times before.

Circe did make some hats. During the early Circe heyday, T-shrts with advertising was unheard of. About the only markings found on T-shirts during that time was from mommies marking Billie's names on the inside collars. About the only tennis shoes available were Buster Browns, Converse and Sears. A few Puma starting popping up in the early 70's.

Several outfits have use the slogan "Call of the Wild" over the years. Even an earlier predator call than Circe used it. Jack London probably make it infamous but the critter was a wolf. Even the Bunny Huggers use it in their World Promotions. Modern Day Lohman may have used it, but I dunno.

Your question caused me to wonder, just when do I remember seeing logos and advertisements on T-shirts. Was it after the Tie-dye era? I do know that companies put employee names on their basic uniform shirts, but T-shirts worn as an outer garment was not common unless it had broad horizontal stripes of contrasting colors. Your basic "hoods" were the first to wear white T-shirts. I remember my mother wouldn't let me out of the house wearing a t-shirt but I think it was because she knew if I wore it outside just once, it would never be white again.

Like I said, I would have to see the text, font and photo. Circe Calls trademark animal was their bobcat and not a coyote.

I don't want to say no, but in all the brochures and advertisements a coyote never showed up and those closely associated with the actual business, never mentioned product advertising beyond that of cardboard window placards and a few show banners, and then when I discovered that Circe of old actually made a few hats, they said..."Oh yeah. I remember those."

Does this help? I didn't think so.

Clear as mud, Thanx!! Now I can wear the t-shirt & hope that it started life as a bunny hugger product.

I think 'logos' on t-shirts started with Andy Warhole's 'Campbells Soup" but I could be wrong.

Actually, the first commercially printed t-shirt for retail sale was the "Smiley Face" t-shirt of the early 70's.

Before that, the logo t-shirt didn't exist. Hard to believe.

There were printed T-shirts in the 60s. One that comes to mind was "Wonder Wart Hog," which is worth quite a bit of money now.

Oh. And there were baseball hats.

My grandpa was the first one in the family to get higher education - State Pen.

So what does this have to do with the price of tea in China? I dunno.

Why am I always so much smarter when I drinK?

What does this have to do with the first advertising shirt? I dunno.

Why is my extension cord on the computer pink?

Which way did he go, which way did he go?
