I am just of the verge of insanity. We have had rain every day since last Thursday. Supposed to get more today, tonight, and then it will turn ot snow tommorrow, with 7 to 10 inches expected. I have ran out of shop and reloading projects, cleaned all my guns, and have no new books or videos to read or watch. Both of my "jobs" in the summer are outside, and it's so muddy there is no possiblity of getting anywhere.

Carbon copy of that weather here.

More rain then snow starting this afternoon lasting for the next three days.

We've just finished a 3+" three day run of rain, the mud is ridiculous as it is.

I guess we need it though, it would be nice to have a river with water in it this summer.

Well, it has been reported often enough that Los Angeles is on the verge of a record breaking year of rainfall. I don't know the exact totals, maybe around 40"(?) but that's a lot for L.A. Some years they get ten inches. Of course, where I live, we get a lot more rain than L.A. There is a reason why all the major north south streets in Upland have curbs 2 feet high, I kid you not; people here have drowned driving across an intersection.

I'm sick of the rain, there is a reason why I choose not to live in Seattle.....Oahu? Maybe.

Good hunting. LB

Sounds like where I'm at Rich. Leonard, southern California usually has the best weather on earth, you just had a bad year is all.

I believe California has the most diversified weather on earth....+134 in Death Valley and -45 in Baca, that's 179 degrees difference.... [Smile]

Cal,

If you need something to keep you busy, we're trying to get our house ready to sell and I've got some painting, packing, landscaping, mowing, tree trimming. Gimme a little while and I'll come up with more. Just trying to help you out. Today, 94 degrees and the sky is bright white from the humidity. Yech!!!

Hey Leonard, if the curbs have to be that high to handle runoff, why don't they call it "Lowland"?

Lance, I'm serious. Sometimes there are boulders the size of basketballs rolling down the street, in the current. Stupid people attempt to cross an intersection and stall their engine, can't open the door against the current so they roll down their window, which floods the car like an aquarium. Sometimes they do get out and are swept under the car just enough to get stuck there. Either way, Darwin was right.

Danny is also correct, our weather is whatever you like. Of course, we DO have a few freaks.

Good hunting. LB

Leonard, I don't doubt you a bit. That's one of the nice things about living in Kansas. Things are so flat that the rain just spreads waaaaaaaaaay out. Furthermore, fifteen years as a street medic taught me that stupid people doing stupid things account for some of the best damn stories I have to tell.

Cal,

The weather is a lot better down here than up where Rich lives. We MAY hit 100 by the end of the month. Rich will hit it next week.

Our coyotes still aren't howling. But I'm expecting to see my first road kill pup of the year, almost any day now.

The only down side to this weather, is the sunburn I got on my legs Sunday morning.

I have been dying to pop some ground squirrels for over a month. They are really thick this year. But I am afraid to go because of all the: rain, snow, hail we have had. I don't want to get hung up on the dirt roads or 2 tracks. Being stuck 10-15 miles from pavement will definitely give you a bad day, or several.

On the upside, the ranchers are all having multiple-orgasms, except when they are hung up, and the desert wildflowers will be a rare show this year.

Cal, send some of that moisture my way. It's dry as a popcorn fart here in southern Mo. Had two days of frost last week though. This week a couple of days with highs near 90. Rain going north or south of us. We're always just two weeks from a drouth here though, with this thin rocky soil. You've got mail. Todd.

It was dry here.

It's even more fun when it melts.

Brad,

You cannot guess how much I would like to see some of that. It's hotter'n a bitch outside around here and carrying mail in it losing me about ten pounds a day in water alone. Big thunderboomers expected before I clock out, so hopefully we won't get the "white stuff" in the form of golfball sized hail.
