Looking for a website for Expo 2005, dates, etc.

I believe the Predator Callers and Hound Hunters Expo has been canceled for this year.

Oh... for real. How unfortunate.
Well, I guess I should say I'm not too surprised.

What's the Predator Callers and Hound Hunters Expo ? Why haven't I heard of this before?
Posted by Steve Craig (Member # 12) on January 25, 2005, 05:39 AM:
WOW,
It was something Bruce Kennedy put together last year . In March we had a 1 day Expo. It was a wonderful deal. Best lion hunters and best predator callers in the USA were there. Hall of Fame was established. Morton and Murry Burnham, Johnny and Gerald Stewart, and Gerry Blair were inducted into the Predator Callers Hall of Fame. Ben Lilly, Wiley Carrol and I believe the Lee Brothers and several others were inducted into the Hound Hunters Hall of Fame. It was a great time and an honor to be there. It was cancelled this year, and I hope that last years will not be the only one to ever be. Maybe someone else will bring it back to life. I hope so.

Steve, I hope you're right, for a predator hunter it was an event not to be missed. Bruce put alot of work into it last year but had no backing for it this year. It cost alot of money to put it all together maybe someone well pick up the ball, let's hope so.

Sounds like a cool deal. Sorry I missed it last year. Any chance of it happening in 2005?

You're not just saying that because you want to get in there are you?
Is there a member's only jacket that comes with induction?

Obviously, the EXPO needs somebody with resources, (like Jay or Robb) if we are to ever see another one.
Thanks, Jay. Got your belated postcard. I was so near and yet, didn't know there was a nude beach in vicinity!

Needs funds?? But what happened to all the "Buddy Hunt" money?
Posted by Steve Craig (Member # 12) on January 27, 2005, 05:32 AM:
The Buddy Hunt money was returned to all who donated.

Okay, I guess that's interesting. When you're running low on funds, the best thing is to give all that you have left away.
Darn it, and so many of you guys deserved to be in the Hall of Fame.

This sheds a bit more light on things:

Not sure I'm reading that right, but it sure looks like maybe Zeus blames predator callers, and is intending to have an expo anyway, but only with the houndmen invited.

I read that thread before, read it again to see if I missed something?
I think Bruce is entitled to an opinion as to how his event went down and how the 2005 expo was progressing. All he said was that it's difficult to get the two groups assembled under one roof for like minded interests. One thing I'll say about him, he's not afraid to cancel something when he doesn't feel right about it. Been done before.
I think he has a "houndsman" type board; not a predator hunting board, and if he wants to throw a BBQ just for them, that's fine by me.
I believe he went into the promotion pure of heart, things didn't go right and he was disappointed. That's understandable.
Good hunting. LB
