I've been to Carrizozo, NM during my truck driving days. Are there any major changes since 1992? The male vs female population is higher than the female still. Lincoln County none the less has a history all its own. Some day maybe I will get back down to that part of the country. A little history of your town http://www.townofcarrizozo.org/history.php

Brad H, is from my parents neck of the woods and I is on the other side of the state in the NW corner of Montana.

Hey Basil, where in Utah? I have some property at Monroe, Ut.

From the south end of the Salt Lake valley. Originally from Eastern Montana. Been here about ten years, but am trying to find a way back to Montana. The coyote hunting here is disappointing to say the least compared to Montana. I have to go up at x-mas time each year for a week to get my yearly fix. The last 2 days did 17 stands and had one coyote come in. At least that I know of and I was in fairly open country. Lots of country, just not a lot of feed to support good populations of coyotes. But it was two fun days in the field.

South Carolina. Living here about six years now. Originally from VA where I got hooked on calling gray foxes and shooting groundhogs. I'm not too happy with the predator hunting or varmint shooting in SC. It seems like the coyote numbers are rising but the density is not so that the hunting is good just yet. Coyote calling here can be dismal sometimes...but you just have to keep going. The foxes...well they seem to be down in number. Maybe it's due to the increase in coyotes? I'm obviously no bioligist but that's my weak theory. No groundhogs in the hayfields here...none. They only seem to den in steep banks with cudzu cover like the RR or interstate right-of-ways. I still hang in there calling away in the winter and reloading for long shots come summer time. Thanks for all the good reading on this site. JB Eanes

Hi All,

I'm new on this forum, but have read many of your posts on another site. I'm located about a 30 min. drive northwest of Woodland Park, Colorado.

I started calling coyotes when I was about 14yr. and yes that was a long, long time ago. We were using flint tipped spears with iron sights only.

Looking forward to enjoying another fine forum.

Regards and Good Shooting,
MaBell
