Why can't the rest of the country get on the bandwagon to keep one time year round like AZ does? It is a real PITA to have to reset all the clocks, watches, electronic devices, vehicles, etc. twice a year. It is even more trouble to get the pets reset. The wife's cat is still on DST and bit my ear when I slept late according to the new time. Her teeth are razor sharp so it did not hurt much but sure has bled a lot. Yes, the cat is a dictator. One time, year round!! Jack

I absolutely agree, Jack. I said as much, a couple days ago, as I was fooling with every damn clock in the house. The answer I got was that we get an extra hour of daylight. Wow! Hadn't thought of it that way.
A colossaal waste of "time" and resources.
Good hunting. LB

Is that what happened to the posting times on the board? It's been annoying the hell out of me for the last few days, they are all an hour off.
Indiana and Hawaii are the only other two States with a lick of sense. Doesn't matter what you do to the clock, there are still only 24 hours in a day. If you want to see more daylight in the summer, get your butt out of bed in the mornings and enjoy it!

Actually, Tim. Here's the deal. This side of the river is the Pacific Time zone, and you guys are in the Mountain Time zone. Except for all summer when we go on daylight saving. Then, everybody moves the clock up one hour.
But, Arizona doesn't do that shit, so all summer, California and Arizona are on the same time, for all intents and purposes.
Now, it's back to an hour difference, and you have noticed it. Me? I never change my watch regardless of where I am, I'm always on LA time.
Now getting back to the board. Right now, it's correct, showing Pacific Standard Time. But it wasn't all summer, because I didn't bother changing it.
Board time is actually based on where the server is located, which happens to be in the eastern time zone. I am supposed to "offset" that by -3 hours to reflect the time here in California.
Then, in the summer, I need to change it to a two hour offset, but that takes more math than I can handle, so I shine it on.
Howver, there is something mysterious built into the system and it almost never shows the actual (real) posting time of a message....at least here?
Clear as mud, right?
Good hunting. LB
edit: to illustrate, I just posted this at 10:42 but, if you notice; that is not what it shows, at the top of the page. [ November 04, 2004, 10:33 PM: Message edited by: Leonard ]
