It may be a secret of sorts, but I don't care. I'm gonna be the first to put uit out to the world. Bryan J and Heather (Huntress) is gittin' hitched. Goes to show you waht hunting together can lead to.

I got a unique and very nice engagement photo via e-mail today - complete with the cammies. Big smiles on both their faces. Congratulations guys!!!

(I'll let Bryan fill in the details.)

Lance, you could have posted a link, www.coldnosed.com/surprise.htm everyone here we consider a friends. When this whole thing started we were just going to go to Nevada hunting and come back and see who noticed the hardware first. After some consideration we decided that we should at least involve our parents. Besides in this town if you start looking for a place to live eventually you are going to come across someone that will let the word out. So now we are going to have a small ceremony, go to Thanksgiving dinner the next day and then spend a few days in Nevada hunting.

I guess it was made official yesterday. Heather thought that the ring wouldn’t be ready until Monday the 25th so she was clueless. I wanted to take her to where she first drew blood on a coyote to present it to her. Anyway, we got a flat tire and while I was changing it she thought she would help by gathering up the empty mountain dew bottles and cigarette packs out of the truck. Pretty quick I hear “what is this green box?” S@&*! It was the cardboard box that the fancy box goes in. She started working me over to get the ring, but gave up after she realized that I wasn’t going to give it to her till I was ready. We got to the kill wash and made our way to the edge of the wash. We chose our clump of brush and made our stand. We had two coyotes respond, one from my side and one from hers. We managed to get a single out of the deal. In all the excitement Heather had forgotten all about the ring that I had in my pocket so I knelt down there next to that dead coyote and she said “YES!”

Thanks Lance and Leonard.

Thank you all!!! We are totally excited!!! The whole proposing over a dead coyote.. awwwh how romantic huh!?!?!?

Bryan forgot to mention what he had inscribed on to my ring.....'coyote'. He said that word was what brought us together!!! Goes to show ya how amazing the internet is huh??? Without the internet we would have never met!!!!

Mind you, I'm happy as a clam, but I just want to stress how fortunate you folks are, that are compatable with such a divisive hobby as is hunting. When your spouse comes from a different background, they simply can not relate to the workings of a hunter's mind.

So, Bryan J, you are a lucky man. No kidding.

Good hunting. LB

PS proposing over a dead coyote.....I dunno? She may get tired of explaining that romantic event. Well, hope not!

Thanks all.

Leonard, I couldn’t agree with you more about my being lucky, my hunting addiction will likely not be a source of too much friction. Because I can share those moments with her. However, I’m not ignorant enough to say that this is going to be easy; I/we will still have to adjust, adapt and compromise in different areas, which may be just as difficult, to make this thing work. I'm sure that there are some that would say that you are a lucky man as well!
