so, please email me your phone number; best times to call. We need to discuss.
Thanks, LB

Email sent.
I mapped out some directions yesterday, who has the list of attendee's Rich?
You'd better not be thinking of backing out now Leonard. I can probably handle the feeding of everyone with out Bruce and Norm ( No one will starve to death, even if the steak comes out tough to chew. And I haven't given anyone food poisoning in years. ) But I am going to need someone to finish up all of the Tequila and Crown Royal that I've bought, and while I know Danny will try, he is going to need your help!

Perish the thought, Amigo. I have already been airing out a tent, and begining to assemble my "survival" gear, fire starter, space blanket, chap stick, signal mirror, BS repellent, etc.
So, where is Higgy? I need to talk to him, also?
Good hunting. LB

I think Ole' Higgy Babes is up dong another interview somewhere around the Great Lakes this weekend.
KeeKee and others, if you have a "preferred Bottle," Something that helps you sleep at night, you need to let me know. Y'all can bring your own beer, but I can pick up bottle for about half price ( Or less ) in Mexico if I know what to get beforehand. Or if someone wants Cigarettes, I can get them for $17 a carton.

Tim,
Im good, Im a bud man myself!
I should be able to get Higgy to stop on the way down and fill up the cooler.
Thanks for asking!

Yeah, I'm with you, keekee. I have been known to drink a Bud, now and again. When you stop to fill that cooler, try not to gag when Higgy wants to add a twelve pack of Coors light, okay?
....and at least a case of diet Dr Pepper.
Good hunting. LB
Posted by Tim Behle (Member # 209) on October 10, 2004, 09:42 PM:
Brent,
When you stop for soda and ice, be sure to set those cases of Diet Dr. Pepper on the back bumper, then fill the cooler full of ice.
You can never have too much ice, and it'll serve Ole Higgy baby right for his camera tricks last year
Anyone have a problem with Carne Asada ( That's Mexican for finger steaks in a tortilla, with green chiles ) one night and pork chops the next?
I've already been promised homemade Salsa, Chorizo, tortillas and maybe some homemade refried beans to bring with me.

I think or hope, I turned Higgy into a Bud man while he was here!
But you never know, I will keep an eye on him at the store!
As for the Dr Pepper, I cant help that I drink regular Dr Pepper myself, but cant drink no diet.
I can eat what ever, really doesnt matter to me, as long as its not no cooked Coyote I will be good to go!
Brent
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on October 11, 2004, 09:39 AM:
Yeah, that carne asada is a secret recipe by one of their Local Legends; (you know who) made with prime coyote fillets!
It's a little gamey, but spiced up with enough jalapenos, very tender, it tastes just like beef, and actually costs more.
Good hunting.
PS, I completely agree with regular Dr Pepper, it's the diet stuff I can't hack.

Hey Rich, do you want me to email these directions to you so you can pass them out?
Posted by bucksnort (Member # 202) on October 11, 2004, 03:23 PM:
Coors is the second best beer in the USA.
Posted by Rich Higgins (Member # 3) on October 11, 2004, 04:42 PM:
Yeah, Tim. Please send them over.
Posted by Tim Behle (Member # 209) on October 11, 2004, 06:05 PM:
Rich,
Directions sent! So if someone ends up in Kansas, I'll just explain that you must have added some changes somewhere.
Bucksnort,
A few years ago I had a woman tell me that Coor's gave her a "strange after taste, just like a BJ" I lost all interest in drinking it ever since.

Okay, I'm imposing a moritorium on the entire area for the next two weeks, no hunting until we get set up. Tim, you're the boss; lock all the gates, get those signs up!
Could we get away with that? Ha!
Can't hardly wait! LB
Posted by NASA (Member # 177) on October 12, 2004, 08:18 AM:
So, is everyone planning on bringing something for the stewpot? We can't let Tim bear the whole burden. If everyone brought some kind of main dish we could pot-luck it every day. Tim could have the honor(?) of menu-izing the collection of vittles so we don't end up eating 4 versions of chilli for every meal. Don't forget the Maalox!
Posted by Locohead (Member # 15) on October 12, 2004, 10:44 AM:
TT, Your grammar sucks! Try using "menuizeifying" next time. It reads nicer.

There will be fifteen people attending. Possibly three others. If Tim has already invested some of his money as well as his time to providing for all of us, it would make sense to simply settle up at the meeting place and divide his bill fifteen ways.
Posted by onecoyote (Member # 129) on October 12, 2004, 01:27 PM:
Does that mean we have to bring money?
I'll bring some firewood, probably be a good idea if everyone could bring a little.
Posted by Tim Behle (Member # 209) on October 12, 2004, 06:30 PM:
Leonard,
You have no idea of how tempted I've been with the idea of slipping up there a few days early and Adding an "Official El Paso Gas company" lock and maybe a "US Border Patrol" lock to the chain on that gate.
But then I understand the rules of Fair chase and public land. I'm hoping we don't have to settle for second choice ( It's just a half a mile further down the dirt road past first choice ) I promise to play fair as long as the others do also.
NASA, I figured it would probably be easier if I brought the food for two nights, two mornings and something easy to pack off for two lunches. But I've never been much for side dishes, snacks and desserts, so if you have something in mind along those lines, be sure to bring it along.
Locohead, that's too big of a word for me to understand, what's it mean? If it means you are bringing dancing girls, I won't argue, but we have to be sure to steal Higgy's camera!
Danny bringing Firewood is one of the best things you could bring, along with water and if any one has an extra cooler, pack it with ice. I hate waking up on Sunday morning to a bunch of warm beer!

May the sun be always at your at your back on the good stands, and the winds are gently blowing the other way fellas.
I hope for all the best times for you all.
Maybe one day we can all do a stand or two and share a memorable canfire.

Good hunting. LB

Shaun,
You know it's not too late for you. If I remember right, you are holding a valid AZ hunting license, and KeeKee just gave up a flight out of somewhere in OH.
If you want to come, I'll get someone to give you a ride, and promise you that you will never get up to find dog shit in your shoes.
I'll even provide you with a loaner rifle, and your favorite bottle for when it gets dark. You are welcome in my camp anytime buddy.
Give it some quick serious thought.
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on October 15, 2004, 11:06 PM:
Man!
Don't ya just hate that dog shit in your shoes, in the morning? Me, on the other hand; I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
Heck yeah, Shaun. It's basically Tim's party. Just so happens, we got an "Ahia" opening. BTW, can you guarantee a win for Bush? Please?
Good hunting. LB

Who and how many guys will show up on Thursday? Tim, myself, Vic, Nasa, and Danny are going to be in on Thursday. Firday morning, Vic and I will be headed for home.
I checked the weather for the next 7 days, and looks as if we have two different fronts coming in with a slight chance of rain on the first, and possible showers on the second, but should be coming through at a quick past. They should not interfere with your hunt.
Take care.

Bruce, did you get my email yesterday, or did it wind up in the spam....as usual?
Posted by Tim Behle (Member # 209) on October 16, 2004, 09:54 PM:
Leonard,
I feel for you, Bruce does have a spam trap from hell.
One thing I thought of today, I had to give up coffee a few years ago. I will be bringing a coffee pot for camping, but it only makes 2-3 cups at a time. If any one has a bigger one, and you don't want to have to wait half of the morning for a cup, you might bring it with you.
Posted by Rich Higgins (Member # 3) on October 18, 2004, 06:52 AM:
Shaun, I'll be happy to pick you up at the airport and drive you to the campsite. Kee cancelled and I have room.
I won't make any promises about the dogshit in the shoes thing.
Posted by S.Frame (Member # 89) on October 18, 2004, 11:11 AM:
Tim, Leonard, Rich, et al, Thank you all very much for the invite. I wish I could make it fellas, but my wife had a pretty bad accident three weeks ago, and is still recovering. She did get to ride in a big noisy medevac chopper ($2,200 per minute...zowie!!)though she really doesn't remember much about it. She's doing fine but I can't get away just yet.
Maybe next time? It seems you guys have gone annual.
Tim, when my Vibram soles are packed full of spent Ken-L-Ration, I just think of it as cover scent.
Having your rifle, cammies and sleeping bag "misted" when your back is turned is a different deal altogether.
Have a good time guys. Maybe I'll see a few of you in January.

Gerald just informed me that he won't be able to make the hunt this year either.
Apparently he heard that we were going to make him perform after all.
I kinda had my heart set on seeing him do the Shirley Temple role in Good Ship Lollipop. Oh well. How 'bout you Leonard?
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on October 18, 2004, 01:15 PM:
No, I haven't practiced that one. I am looking forward to the twins doing Gabby Hayes and Boy George, though. Should be a hoot!
I'm a little concerned about the rain, it might blow through before we arrive, maybe not? I like a little rain, just so the roads aren't too slippery.
Good hunting. LB
Shaun, best of luck with your wife's injuries.
Posted by Tim Behle (Member # 209) on October 18, 2004, 05:38 PM:
Rich,
I figured Gerald backed out when he learned you were bringing your camera. It's a shame he can't be there, when you take the pressure off of him and let him relax, he is one of the funniest people I've ever met.
Maybe next year.
Shaun, Give my best to Deb, I was wondering why I hadn't heard from her. Those helicopter rides are too expensive not to remember, but it sure beats the alternative.
Posted by Locohead (Member # 15) on October 18, 2004, 08:19 PM:
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! Dang it!
I've been planning on coming for a month or so. I would love to be there but I thought it was a 3-day weekend. NASA just informed today that if I want a ride, the train leaves tomorrow. No way Jose. I've got a business to run and critters to mush and gush. I'll be gone the following week for 6 days for deer and elk. I've got a supportive wife that said, "Well, why don't you just fly then?"
Is flying a real possibility? I hope so, but I kind of doubt it!
REGRETS!!!!!
Posted by Tim Behle (Member # 209) on October 18, 2004, 08:56 PM:
Locohead,
My wife's best friend ( And our Maid of Honor ) is flying in tomorrow morning with her Husband. { we haven't seen them in 4 years ) I'll take them to dinner tomorrow night, then do the tourist thing in Mexico on Wednesday. Thursday I will get up, gather up a pot of beans that have cooked all night, precook 10# of potatoes and put together a plate full of Atomic Buffalo turds.
I'll be telling our company goodbye and be out the door by noon at the latest.
You just need to put your priorities in the right order. This is going to be a hunt that is talked about by the legends for years to come. We may not kill any record numbers of coyotes, but the camaraderie of those who share camp can not be beaten.
Unless the wife is threatening to divorce you, or the boss may fire you, you need to make this a top priority.
Yes flying is a good option, There are big Airports in both Phoenix and Tucson that someone will be able to pick you up at. We even have a small airport here in McNeal, or use the dirt strip beside my house, it's longer than the runway at the airport.
I can see you not wanting to ride with Tom and Danny, you'd dehydrate before you hit the AZ line from tears of laughter, and you sides would hurt too much to walk for weeks!
Edit:
I'll be gone the following weekend for a 4 day deer hunt myself, so that's no excuse!
