Byron, Tim and Bill pulled up into my driveway around 4:30 p.m. yesterday.
I was so proud of my dog, Shadey Lady. I taught her to bark with a toy in her mouth because it muffles the sound. So naturally when she saw the vehicle coming she grabbed out of ALLLLLL of her toys, no other than her white sheep and greeted Byron at the door with "Lilly" (that's what we will call her for Leonards sake) the white stuffed animal sheep. Maybe I had a little to do with that choice of hers, when I put all of her other stuffed animals in her basket and told her the only one she could have was Lilly.
Ahhh... she made me proud. Anyway, the coyotes knew that something was up. Not one peep out of them last night. Although it probably didn't help with all the talking and laughing that was going on either.
It was a good time despite no responses. It was great meeting him. Even though I gave Shadey Lady some more of her toys before we left that afternoon, she still insisted on greeting Byron when we got back with, what else, Lilly The White Sheep dangling from her mouth. Ahhh... Dog on Cue ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Sheri,
I sure enjoyed Pennsylvania, but wish the weather would have been as nice as the people I met while there. I heard on the radio that that was the worst flood since 1972. It was sure good meeting you Sheri.

Lucky for you one of Hanna's relatives wuz there.
I was thinking about you and all the weather. Too bad, but sometimes I'd rather visit with good people and have a drink rather than drag out at 4AM.

Rich, we did some calling, but it was in either rain or 45 mph winds. Called in one red fox and that was it. I would love to go back and hunt PA under better weather conditions. Tim Tipton was my host and even Mike dillon from FOXPRO hunted with us some, and gave me a tour of FOXPRO's facilities (Cool). On Sunday I gave a seminar to the Penn. Predator Hunters Assn. These are some very dedicated guys with a dedication to the sport that is admirable. With the coyote population as it is in PA they may make as many as 40-50 stands between kills and still stay pumped. Thats serious dedication.

Those winds were slightly breezy Byron We had some damage that had to be tended to with Ivan when he hit us Friday... but nothing we couldn't handle. Just waiting to remove the 150' gravel bar that we now have.

It was a pleasure to have a star like Byron come up to spend some time with us. But, I will admit I was dissappointed with Byron. ![[Frown]](frown.gif) I mean he is a professional and all. He only called in one Red Fox. I thought those boys from Texas could call in those dogs every time out, Thats what it looks like on those videos any way,I'm begining to wonder. I think that it may have been the accent thing.
Sure it was the tail end of a hurricane. Sure it rained like a fire hose on a flat rock. It rained so hard that it took us 6 hours for what is normally a 3 hour trip. Half the roads in the state were closed due to the flooding. The wind was holding at 35 mph with gusts up above 45mph. Heck, some people wouldn't even call that windy! We even took him to some of the hot spots, The Suger Shack and The Bear *ss Saloon. He may not be able to kill any Pa yotes but he is dangerous with that cue stick. He even got to huddle with Crow Woman in her cabin, while my brother in law and I were sent away to hunt another part of the farm. I can't figure it out, I just guess that next time he will want good weather or at least not a hurricane, those video stars have some big demands. All in all we had a good time rubbing elbows with Byron, I even got to pick up his caller after we were done on a stand.

I think the "sugar shack" needs a little more clarification. The sugar shack in question was a little shack on the side of a mountain side full of maple trees. This shack is where they convert the sap into maple syrup (VERY good maple syrup). It is also used by soaked predator hunters as a place to hold up until the rain stops (which it didn't). The bare a$$ed saloon, well lets just say thats a better place for drenched predator hunters to hold up until the rain stops .
I enjoyed PA very much and look forward to coming back if I didn't wear my welcome out.
