I was invited to go video some coyote pups just coming out of the den yesterday. He said they were still pretty small. I thought that sounded a bit odd but I took him up on the offer. Little did I know I was gonna be videotaping kit fox puppies and a momma, Possibly a daddy too(I'm not sure about the daddy part, there was one with a much fuller tail). Anyway, the critters were not all that shy and I got a bunch of video. The coolest thing was momma coming home with a pack rat or some such critter, dropping it and watching the puppies race for it. The puppy that won, grabbed the grub and ran full speed past his siblings all the way to the hole and dove right without even sharing.
Another interesting thing: I saw them chase lots of grasshoppers and even watched some wrestling around but I never heard so much as a peep come out of those critters.
-------------------- I love my critters and chick!!!! :)

I'm envious. You played hookie from work and got some great video. Way to go, Danny. I've been calling two and three times a week and still haven't got what I need for the video.

Good going there Loco. I have seen quite a few kit fox, but only through a scope and at night. I have never seen a kit fox during the day. Sounds awesome! Good job my friend.

Sounds like a lot of fun Loco! I have spent some time watching red fox dens but my video equipment leaves a great deal to be desired.
I was reading through some logs on another non-hunting web-site that I pop in on from time to time. There was a guy that said that he saw a couple of wolves in an area that I hunt regularly. LOL I know they were not wolves. LOL I’m looking forward to getting out there and calling those COYOTES!
