Congratulations on the elk;

Interesting quartering technique; (e.g. cut them to fit in the back of the truck!!);

Good Job Chris!!!! [Smile]

P.S. It doesn't look like you quartered it; it looks like you 1/8 & 1/8 & 5/8ified it! [Wink]

Thanks Danny!
Yea, we ended up halving the critters and dragging the halves about 800 yards to my truck...very painful!

Holy cow!!! (no pun intended) A buddy and I packed out a 5 x 6 bull this year about 1 1/2 - 2 miles back to camp. It took two days, 3 trips of de-boned elk. We took the head and neck whole, boned quarters, back straps and left the big chunk. I lost 32 lbs. in 2 days (I think [Wink] ) Dragging big chunks like you guys did is very gruelling!!!

Nice to see you around Chris!!!

Nice to be "Back" Loco. Been working steady since March (having to commute to Denver, but oh well...) and were getting things back in order at the house from me being unemployed for those nine months.
Lookin' to do a number on coyotes this winter and have access to a bunch of ranches around the Simla area, so we'll have to get together. Maybe go down to Trinidad and see Colorado Coyotes.

Congrats on your job! Hey, going all the way to Denver takes me all of 5 minutes! [Wink] Yes, I'd love doing that hunt idea of yours. I've yet to meet him. I am sad to say I've met Barry a time or two though!!! LOL [Wink]

Barry, CC let me and Loco know when you want some company!

Dawg & Loco, I'll bet we could talk Barry into a trip & I'll drive him for a change.

Maybe after the first of the year. Let's set something up.
