Everyone, I wanted to take the time to extend a big THANK YOU for this weekend.

Tim, Thanks for starting the ball rolling. Hopefully you wont be seeing any full moons on your lion trip; Bruce, thanks for hauling down cyclops and preparing the food. I enjoyed helping out where I could. I look forward to some of your links.

Danny, I trust you made it home safely and are feeling better.

Leonard and Rich, I trust you made it through the Tucson traffic jams. I ended up getting off the hiway and taking the frontage road. Great to meet you both.

Vic, It was great to finally meet you.

In summary, it was an honor to meet you all and spend time listening to your tales and adventures. It has to have been one of the most enjoyable weekends of my life. I wish I would have been born earlier so I could have hunted predators with my vocal sounds and a good club...

Take care Amigos...

Norm

hey Norm,

It was a real pleasure to meet you. I know we got to shake hands and say good byes this afternoon, but I did forget to thank you for the gracious use of your tents and a cot to flop on,sure beat hell out of freezing in the back of my truck, thanks so much. Was good to share a few laughs with you, I hope we can do it again.

Hey, wasn't that a fun deal? And, I made my flight with ten minutes to spare.

Wow, hunting with Vic was an honor few get, I'm unworthy! We even bunked together! [Wink]

Norm, very nice of you to set your gear up for us, thank you. Enjoyed hunting with you!

Man, you should have been at that campfire, the BS was so thick, you could cut it with a knife!

It's been a while since I had such a good time in a hunting camp.

Bruce. What can I say? You went to a lot of effort, and we all appreciated it.

Danny didn't hunt, but he was spinning yarns, nonstop. He's a lot of fun.

Rich Higgins. Buddy, you're coming along nicely on your howling!

Just kidding, the guy has a real talent with that horn, wish I could do half as good.

Thanks to all, for making this such an enjoyable weekend!

Good hunting. LB

edit: how could I forget Tim Behle? A genuinely nice guy, he put a lot into the hunt, and we all appreciate it.

Vic, as soon as I got home, my wife handed me a Viagra, but I fell asleep. When I woke up this morning, I thought I was still camping because someone had pitched a tent in the middle of the blankets lol.

Norm, thank you for the use of your tent, cot and all that firewood you got for us. You are one heck of a nice guy, I'm sorry if I kept you up all night with that cold I had.

Bruce, you are the man! What else can WE ALL say about you except thank you. You are the most organized ,"make things happen" person I know and maybe the best cook in the state of Arizona. The thing that scares me is that we think the alike sometimes lol, it was great.

Leonard, I had not seen you for about 5 years. We have to change that and maybe go hunting or something. It's always good to talk about the old friends and find out the latest.

Rich, thank you for showing me some of the howling sounds coyotes make, you sure sound like one. By the way, you sure don't look your age, what's your secret? It was funny to find out we were all over in Germany about the same time.

Tim, it was a pleasure to meet you and I'm sure our paths will cross again. You're on a roll with a deer and a bear this year, now all you need is that lion. I'm hoping you and Bruce can do it.

It was great to see some of you that I have not seen for a long time and also great to meet some of you for the first time. I hope we can all do it again soon, God Bless

Leonard, Bruce, Norm, Vic, Danny and Rich. Thank you all for the most wonderful weekend of my life. ( my wife is still pissed because I told her it was even more fun than our Honey-moon)

Bruce just left for home. We spent the morning looking for coyotes, when the wind got too bad to call. We spent the day looking at some beautiful country, and Bruce managed to connect on a coyote at a distance longer than I should print.

With Bruce's great cooking, Rich's great company while I hunted ( everyone should get a chance to listen to him work a howler.) Having Vic and Leonard pull up behind us on a stand ( Great minds must think alike ) All of Norm's help getting things prepped and set up and making sure things worked flawlessly, and Danny making sure my sides never stopped hurting from laughter. It was a weekend that won't be forgotten.

For those who have never met them, Danny is one of the funniest people you could ever meet, and Vic has one of the most fun-loving inquisitive personalities you could ever hope for. Put the two of them together, add the good Professor Higgins, then let Danny mention his Viagra, and you will know why we stayed up most of Saturday night laughing so hard we all woke up with strained ribs.

I'm glad you all could make it, and I hope we can get together soon.

I'm glad to hear that everybody had as good of a time as I did.

I still want to know what Tim did with those coyotes....I have a hunch.

Item: Turns out that Bruce, Danny, Rich and yours truly were all over in Germany about the same time in the early sixties.....as members of the Armed Forces, except for Rich, who was in the Air Force. (just kidding) Much in common.

Then they ruined it all by figuring out that I was the oldest coot in attendance. And continually rubbing it in.

Thanks guys!

Good hunting. LB [Smile]

If you are thinking about "From the Great Lenbo, with love"

Sorry, but it didn't happen. I had a full bed on my truck when I left, and Vic was too kind hearted to help. Maybe in a couple of months?....

I just got in from spending another great day with Tim. Had a lot of fun and saw some great country. Heck we even wound up in New Mexico of all places. Spent last night at his home, and I always get a kick out being around his lovely bride Joyce. She is a neat person and I like her.

Norm, Danny, Vic, Leonard, Rich, and Tim, what a great weekend. As Tim said, I haven't laughed so much and so hard for a long time - maybe ever.

Rich, I am sorry a put my "five pointed star" in your right ear. [Big Grin] [Big Grin] Hell, on second thought, you deserved it. [Big Grin]

But a very and big special THANKS to Norm for helping me cook and do the chores. Norm you really did a great job, and I know we all appreciate the hard work, and especially me. I hope we can sneak off and do some hunting together, and not do any cooking.

We came away from all this, and we all agreed, we must do this again. Since somebody accused Danny and I as being the original "Club Hunters" because we started hunting before they had guns. We are still looking for that individual. [Big Grin] So, in the future, this will be called "The Club Hunter's Invitational." There were four of us that are 60 or over, and I won't name the other two. [Big Grin]

Right now, I am going to enjoy a hot shower, and if I am still awake when I get out, I will post some photos, and if not, I will post them tomorrow.

Thanks again guys for a great weekend.

I picked Leonard up at the airport Fri night and dropped him off Sun afternoon. Spent eight hours in the Bronco travelling with him. Very entertaining and Very informative. I may keep secrets. I may not.
Bruce and Norm set up and maintained the Ritz Carlton of camp sites. Wall tents and awnings, lounge chairs, tables, gourmet cuisine, tequila, beer, cigars, and a perpetual bonfire. Bruce towed that Rube Goldberg contraption that produced, from secret compartments, different styles of ribs, chicken, brat, elk sausage, and those wonderful poppers. Can't thank you guys enough for the work and service and great company.
I hunted one and a half days with Tim. I would do it again, anywhere, anytime, in a heartbeat. Great sense of humor, easy, good nature and he has the passion for the hunt. I got good film of about fifteen coyotes coming in and a beautiful boar badger that came right in. Sunday at noon we filmed the interview with Tim in the walltent because the wind was blowing . I sat across the tent from Tim, behind the camera, next to the tent flap. Halfway through the interview Tim looked a little to my right and cracked-up. I turned my head and stared at Bruce Kennedy's white, fuzzy fanny mooning Tim through the tent flap six inches from my nose. I'm still traumatized. My eyes still don't focus properly. [Big Grin]
Danny didn't feel well and had to leave early Sun. I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with him. I hope you make it to the next one Danny.
Vic was a major surprise. Great sense of humor, full of the dickens, as my Mom used to say. Vic tentatively agreed to doing a hunt for the video in Feb. That would be a good excuse to do the whole thing again. Are you guys up for it yet?
Thanks to all six of you for a very memorable hunt. Only seven of us? Seemed like a lot more. [Smile]

I have received several e-mails, want to know where we got those coyotes. So here goes.
Going south on Hwy 191 toward Elfrida, Arizona, just south of ElFrida as you are leaving town, the highway forks. Take the right fork and travel about 5 miles until you come to a 4-way stop. Proceed south through the 4-way about 1/2 mile, until you see an old abandon farm on the right. We camped out behind those buildings. Man the hunting is fantastic all around that area. If you are in the area, be sure to hunt it hard, because it provides some of the best coyote hunting in the state of Arizona.

Take care.

Hey great, Bruce.

There are so many animals in the area, the locals are desperate for help. It's okay to just leave your trash scattered, they have a groundskeeper....good ol' boy, too. Leave him a little somrthing, if you can?

Man, did we set the record for round-the-clock BS?

It's not too clear, but there is a cased coyote hanging right in the middle. Norm tried to salvage it, but it was slipping pretty bad, by the time of the photo.

(I like to wear "roomy" comfortable camo) No wisecracks, okay? My wife says I look fat in the pictures.

Good hunting. LB

Ok that's it, I got to tell the truth. You guys see the picture of me in that chair with the cowboy hat, little do you know they had this old man tied to that darn pole so I could not go hunting, what a bunch of sorry old men huh. [Mad] They just showed you guys a FEW of the coyotes they got, I'd say they had FIVE TIMES that amount but didn't post the pictures because they don't want anybody to know where this hot spot really is, but Bruce spelt the beans so to speak. I guess I'll be kicked out of the club now, but I just can't tell a lie. I'm really sorry you guys, [Frown]

Guys, Bruce isn't lying to you. If you follow his directions to that barn, you will find coyotes. Lots of them, well over 300 in fact. I've been there and seen them. In fact, I killed more than two hundred of them. They've all been skinned, fleshed and dried.

Then in mid summer, they were hauled out to the barn and properly "Utilized." In fact, the owner of that barn has his freezers all stuffed right now with another 50 or more coyotes I gave him last year. They've been skinned, fleshed and dried and are waiting their turn to be "utilized" in the same fashion.

Take a look for your self. They are on the East side of the tack room.

Hey Q, what are the dates of your visit?

Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on November 18, 2003, 06:50 PM:

Holy $hit! That's about $12,000 worth of hides, at current prices. Calls for an armed guard, day and night. So damn many coyotes they need Cross Walks. Squish! Squish!

Good hunting. LB

Q, hey now, watch who you are calling "old farts"! We did the math and only 3 of us had over 180 years of calling. [Big Grin] Rich will be 60 in two months??? and that would be over 240 years with 4 of us. Show a little respect now. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Q, now tell us the truth, are you coming down for the "Great Coyote Goof" hunt in January? [Big Grin] If so, we will have to bring this up at the next "Club Hunter" Board meeting. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Guess who is the oldest "old fart" of the "Club Hunters". [Big Grin]

Oh lordy, this is getting good. [Big Grin]

Bruce, you truly are the "Don King" of the bizarre world of predator callers. How you can so easily and quickly turn tails on “friends” and commitments is beyond my comprehension and something I don’t really comprehend or recall ever seeing on the scale that you seem to consistently provide, but you mange to do it well.

To be able to take a nice hunting trip involving some of the most capable hunters and describe the whole experience in the way that you have summarized it is a sad commentary on your mental condition.

You need a new Hairdo. The “Buckwheat” look would suit you well/

The personal influence you have over anyone is puzzling to me, but it is apparently effective none the less, at least with one fellow that was unable to “bear” up to you’re cajoling and negative influence.

If you are so hell-bent on dogging John-Henry, just being up-front about whatever issues you have is a much better course than the snide, subversive sniping kind of innuendoes and cryptic inferences I’ve seen from you lately. I thought you were a better man than that Bruce.

My respect for you has been seriously eroded, but I doubt you care.

What a sad way to end the desription of an enjoyable hunt.

Norm, Tim, Vic, Rich, Leonard, When will be YOUR turn for Buckwheats revenge?

Shawn,

I'm sorry it's come out this way. But with the exception of Norm, Rich and Danny, you could have almost called our gathering last week a collection of people your friend has $hit on. The best advise I could give them, or anyone else would be to get away from him and stay away from him, before he does to them what he did to me.

And yes, up until the beginning of September, I did consider him to be my best friend.

Send me your phone number tbehle@c2i2.com and I will be happy to explain in private.

I'll be more than happy to quit telling the truth, when he learns to tell it.

I am going to try and be in AZ by the weekend of the 16th or the 30th but nothing is carved in stone yet. There are several guys I would like to hunt with or at least shake hands with while I am down there. It is still a couple of months away but as of now that is looking the best for me.

Good hunting.

Bruce, Any chance a guy could get the recipe for those buffalo turds from you? In the pic it says they are ready for the smoker. I like to prick around with my smoker on occasion because it seems that anything smoked is just a little better than your average grub.

Everytime I scroll down this thread and see those turds my mouth starts to water. Kinda like whenever I see one of Mule's posts and he has that "Boob Bouncing Wonder" at the bottom of his post. [Smile] Ya just gotta stop and stare for a minute of two or you ain't a man.

Thanks

Yup Leonard that's the very short version. Take Leonard's 10 second version and add four and a half minutes of locker room embellishment and you're back on track. [Big Grin]

Posted by bucksnort (Member # 202) on November 19, 2003, 05:39 PM:

Lonny, here you go:

1 7lb can of Jalapenos (pickled if nothing else).
3 packages of soft creme cheese
1 lb of smoked pulled pork
1 lb of bacon

In a blender, process the creme cheese and smoked pulled pork. Do a little at a time to be sure all is blended.

Remove the seeds from the Jalapenos.

Stuff Jalapenos with the creme cheese/pulled pork blend.

Take the bacon strips and cut in half. Wrap each Jalapeno in one 1/2 of bacon and stick a toothpick through it to hold it together.

Spray the bacon wrapped Jalapenos with (canned) Olive Oil.

Sprinkle your favorite BBQ Rub on the Jalapenos.

Place in smoker and cook until bacon is done or crisp.

PS: Betcha can't eat just one! [Big Grin]

Enjoy!

Guys, let me warn you, ( I'd have said something earlier, but I didn't want to be the only one who got nailed ) Rich's camera doesn't show a red light in the front when he's recording. The only way you can tell is to look for the lens cap. If the cap is gone, and the camera is in his lap, pointed at you, you'd better smile. [Big Grin]

Saturday night, he got you all, the camera was running on and off most of the night. [Razz]

And Rich, the way my mind works, you must have done a bunch of editing if the only ones you caught talking were Vic, Danny and Leonard. Your stories of playing with Viagra could easily take up an hour of good tape. [Wink]

Posted by Rich Higgins (Member # 3) on November 19, 2003, 08:55 PM:

Tim, very observant. :)Few have noticed that.
I don't have to edit later. I keep my thumb on the red button. When I talk I click the button. When I finish I click again. Makes my tapes worry free. At least for me. [Big Grin]

Higgins; your a regular Allen Fundt......I saw that camera in your lap, but after several minutes of your flowery narrative concerning the virtues of the little blue pill, I totally forgot about it! I was throughly engrossed in the stimulating conversation,Leonard had been nursing a couple paper cups of tequilla and got loose lips, and Danny had been slamming down cocktails of Nyquil&bourbon....your a sorry outfit Higgins! That tape will never "stand-up" in court:).....Did you all take notice; Norm was the only smart one there, he just stared at the fire, listened and grinned, I shoulda followed his lead:)

I disabled the red light at the same time I killed that annoying chime that sounded off everytime I turned on the camera. Two less things to attract the coyotes attention. My thumb was on the red record button.
Sneaky? No more so than any other predator caller. I'm used to filming coyotes. You guys were easy. Except for Tim. Pretty sharp. We better keep an eye on that young man.

Rich,

After Bruce got done mooning me right after I Spoke my name in introduction to my interview. I'm sure the best you got from me was when you recorded me while driving down the road.

Shame you didn't get Vic's tail stripper Demo, I'd have paid extra for that!

I think Norm and I stayed out of the Viagra discussion due to the confusion we got from the realization that we actually knew people old enough to need it. And so many of them!

BTW, I'm still laughing over your joke about the Virgin on his Honeymoon. I've got to show that one to my wife!
