I posted a link to a State (Indiana) hunting site and I was told the post was edited as a TOS violation. I heard PM were bitches about other websites but this is uncanny.Weird. I don't get it. I have been a webmaster for 12 years and have never offended anyone or broken any rules. I have founded 5 gun websites. Some still arround, some not. I just don't get the reasoning behind the nazi actions. I don't blame Mr. Cronk.
If I can't post a link to a thread on another board, I don't wanna be involved in the kiddy shit. I have sent hundreds of people from all over the US tto PM. I'm offended. I know there have been arguments and loss of some great members that cannot be replaced due to the same thing. Thanks for letting me vent. jerryboy

I think that's pretty close to the same words I used when Leonard got railroaded and I told them to find a new Moderator.
I haven't missed them yet.

See, I never knew what happened. I asked about it once and everyone cowered away. They never told me but you kinda just did. Glad to know I'm not alone in my observations.
I thought PM was for free and it was to share hunting info, stories, tips and pics. Good hunts and bad. And most of all,be open and honest.
Why isn't there a big bulletin that says"we will edit your post against your will if you post a link to another site"? I would have never looked at PM twice had I noticed that.
And there is a mod there who is constantly provoking me into arguments. Once I lost it and kindly told him what I thought and I reported it. They said they would mention it to him. He has done the same since 2 or 3 times. It seems a candyass reason but I think I am suddenly uninterrested. The thing is,I don't think they care. It never applied to me as I never thought about it. Call me a dork, but I have a big heart.
If a 19 year old guy likes an old AR I have,I give it to him. One day, an old man was admiring a nice fishing rig I had. I fished with him all day, as I left, I put the pole in his boat!
I live for giving. I do the right thing. jerryboy

Funny thing - all of us heard about the PM board somewhere and at some time. It's certainly a good thing that other board's TOS and moderators were secure enough to know that there's room on the web for all of them. Note that PM, as well as other boards, see frequent mention on this board and I don't know that Leonard is losing any sleep over it. In fact, I think I recall instances where a thread on one board may have been mentioned here prompting this board to start its own conversation in a direction different than that taken at the other place. Can't be specific, but I don't see a way that this is a bad thing. I guess others do. Go figger.

Hi guys, been away, and don't have much time to chat, but, you are correct. It says I have a moderator, here...but actually, I don't need one. Everybody acts reasonable, and adult, and that's all I ask.
Post any related, (even remotely) link; fine with me.

Wow jerry...
I can't believe you didn't bother to contact at least me... We've been able to talk in the past and I thought we had at least an acquaintance with each other. I'd sure hate to think I was wrong? I don't think I was...
Personally, I don't think Leonards board is the place to hang PM's dirty laundry, so I won't even go any further here... I'll send ya an email...
Sorry Leonard

Don't worry, Stretch, I'm not interested in flaming PM.
I don't edit, though; and HM members are free to let us know what's on their mind.
I hope you and Jerryboy reach an understanding and remain cordial. (sincerely)
Good hunting. LB

To be honest Leonard, I never knew what happened to cause you to stop posting on PM either. I know it is none of my business, but I also believe in forgiving and forgetting. I know several folks have mentioned missing your expertise and experience on the boards.
I think it'd be cool as hell to see everything mended and the boards become friendly again. I wasn't involved back when whatever happened took place, never knew anything about any of the sites. But I know between running between the two I see all the good folks anyway...
I have made some very good friends from the folks I've met from PM and am very happy for that. I am not one to start problems and think that we as a group, a decreasing group of hunters should remain as strong as possible in order to keep our right to hunt safe!

Stretch, I haven't seen you in quite a while man.
Theres no prob with you and I. I was just shocked at the editing of my post. It was kinda uncanny.
I do appologize for the immature post above and will edit unnecessary stuff. I have felt like I went overboard with a few comments and I don't know where I got the money barrel stuff. Sorry.
I didn't post it here because this is anti-PM,it is not. They seem more mature than I because they refuse to post publically what I did. It's one of my favorite sites or I wouldn't have been hurt so bad.
Anyways, where have ya been man? Your not trying to develope a life outside the hunting world are ya'? Tisk tisk! Bad news man.

Whats TOS?
Jerry,
We need to go shooting so I can admire yer AR's and look pitiful. LOL Do ya think 52 is old enough to get pity?
Seems like there are beefs on all the boards sometimes. Sometimes I sit back and read all the messages back and forth and am amazed at how silly some of the disagreements seem, and sometimes they "morph" into a whole nother subject.
I don't know what could ever make it stop as long asa we are humans.
Still this and PM are both great sites.

Hi Bofire,
To answer your question, and provide a rationale for what occured, maybe I can provide a little insight.
First, "your" provider usually has some sort of conditions, and this is the Terms of Service, or what everybody generally refers to as TOS.
Message boards generally have a statement of conditions, which you agree to, before you are granted permission to post notes.
In the case of Predator Masters, they are a comercial site, and do not allow people to come in there and "spam" the board with links to other sites...without selective permission. They believe it is courtesy to their advertisers.
Huntmasters isn't a commercial site, and we do not accept advertising. Further, we do not have a formal "Terms of Service" statement. So, technically, anything goes. But, we do have a reaction to offensive material, and deal with it.
You may advertise by posting a message, or by replying to any message, by inserting your link in your "signature". I look at these things, and if if seems inappropriate (to me) I won't allow it.
The things that offend, are those folks that fly in here and post self-serving links to commercial enterprises, or other message boards, without permission, and have no intention of participating in our discussions.
So, use your own judgement, and I'll do the same. Simple, right?
Good hunting. LB

Jerry...
No sir... Hunting is my life blood!! I would never give it up, for anything. If I had to throw rocks at my quarry because the anti's got my guns, then so be it. I'll just have to replace my shoulder a few times rather than a barrel...
Maybe I could get one of those new fangled high tech plastic or metal alloy shoulders??
Where I've been... Well, I have been without work for 2 years, so I finally figured out that the company wasn't gonna call me back.
Actually, I was a Technical Recruiter, companies would hire me to hire top computer talent from competiing companies. Since Sept. 11, the high tech companies have taken a major nose dive.
I predicted this several years ago, as the market for employees was getting flooded from all the high tech schools that advertise on TV. You know the ones, they show a couple of morons playing video games, then they state how much money you can make by doing the same thing, to get the training come to our school...
Anyway, with all the companies laying off, they obviously didn't need me to find replacements. Hence, my time to go... So now, I am going to college for Radiation Technology. Will be finished in 2 years.
But when I do get out, I can start buying more guns again... And an AR is at the top of my list... LOL Until then, the homework is overwhelming. The hours are long and the pay sucks!! Last night was the first time I had a chance to check Huntmasters posts in a while. Thats when I saw the thread. Again, I apologize for the confusion.
PM's TOS really isn't as bad as it sounds. We do allow links for information postings, good deals on products, etc. We frown on links to other BBS's, as does Leonard or any other board. You don't want to send your members away to find a new favorite watering hole, if ya know what I mean?
The purpose is to grow your own as large as you can. But in growing so large, you will suffer the growing pains associated with all the mixed cultures, computer rambo's and general pot stirrers. Leonard can attest to that, I'm sure.
I think that with the board wars of the past, all any of the old members of PM want is to let bygones be bygones. And mend to the lost friendships. But, I can't speak for them or anyone else, nor can I be a peacemaker of any sorts when I was not involved in any of it anyway.
Anyway, that's what's been going on with me in a long winded round-a-bout way...
