Nice pic, Rich. And you've inspired me to make a suggestion..... how 'bout we do like Rich did and take this opportunity to do as Rich did and post pics of our prides and joys. We've all got our best and fondest memories of the trapline or a day or two hunting, but isn't the experience so much better when you have one of your kidlets along to share it with? Gimme a minute to drag a pic or two out of the album and onto the scanner and I'll be back to share one of my best trapline memories with y'all. In the meantime, let's see some pics of you guys' kids with some critters. There's gotta be more than a couple out there. C'mon guys... let's see the soft side and hear ya braggin' up your kids.
Here's my son at 9 with what was then and remains the biggest bobcat either of us has been part of taking. This one was fouling my dryland coon sets while I was trying to put together photo support for an article, and although it was still only late November, I decided to cuff him and get him out of the way. Good thing, too. he was coming into town in the evening and knocking off pets. He tipped my scales at a hair over 38# and scared the peewhoddin' out of poor Dalian. The second pic is as close as I could get him to the cat for a picture. (Tyler looks a whole lot more thrilled than Dalian.)

This is as close as I can come. This is my 3 year old who is always getting into her brothers toys. We never know what to expect when she comes out of her bedroom. If anyone in this family kills a bobcat, itll be her.

You guys are making me remember my daughters progression through the shooting sports.
Air rifle and small bore in intermediate school, adding high power in high school.
It took a lot of work and concentration on her part, but she made good progress. I just provided transportation and equipment. She taught me how to shoot.
Winning the first school championship. Winning the first VFW championship. Winning the first major high power match. Winning the first state championship match. Shooting the best score ever fired with a 223 at 1000 yards at Quantico MCB, VA. up to that time, against the Marine Marksmanship Unit. Being invited to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. A full scholarship to college for rifle. Making it into the NCAA finals her first year, and placing respectably.
She pretty much gave up high level competition at that point. On the advise of 3 Olympic gold medal winners and me, she realized that was no way to make a living.
She was an EE designing analog circuits(a small community) for some years.
As hard as it is to believe, and as much as I preached against it, she is now a successful ballet dancer. Not much money, but she is in demand and always loved the stage. I think that is why she was so good in high power where every shots score is posted within seconds for all to see.
She still does some recreational shooting, but lets the locals win unless she thinks they need to be taught a lesson.
