Guys, I keep receiving the same e/m from "security@microsoft.com" wherein it states, Download this patch now. Over 500.000 infected.
This is all there is to the body of text, other than the attachment. My ISP's firewall software and my own anti-virus software have stopped every malicious file there's been in three years and I'm concerned about this one. web searches have proved unproductive. Has anyone seen this message and is it legit?

Sounds like a bad idea. Never download, or open, something from an email. Go to the MS site and download what they say.
It looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, flies like a duck. It probably is a duck.

Don't forget waddles like a duck Jack. j/k. He's right. Don't open anything like that from which you don't know where it came from EVER. That's how bad things happen.

Here's a suggestion,
Everyone on the boards needs to update their antiviral databases and do a complete scan of their harddrives. I'm getting both the types of message I cited above daily now, plus Daemon messages that nefarious messages have been sent out under my e-mail addy. Surprisingly, I frequently update and run virus scans, maintain all my AV programs and options, and still this crap is getting through. If you haven't scanned your HD, do so as soon as it's convenient.
