Hello the house...

I have nearly completed a most pleasant day. New old friends Jay Nistetter and Rich Higgins motored up from the Valley of the Sun bearing gifts. Jay brought a doubly handsome screamer he had crafted from two tone desert ironwood. Rich brought one of his deliciously desperate howlers. We were joined by my old friend George Oakey...one of the true pioneers of predator calling, and by my cowboy friend Raymond Branch from Winslow. Sons Gerry and Mike and grandson Sean completed the congenial group. We killed our limit of coyote and even a mountain lion or two as we yarned our way through a most pleasant day.

Yep, it is me Gerry Blair back from the dead. I am one year into my second birthing and look forward to many more. Maybe.

I thank one and all for allowing me to join this honored company of screamers. Sadly, my energy level does not allow a personal answer to every message. My son Mike lives with me and is a computer guru. He will see that every message is brought to my attention.

Yours for the sport....

Gerry Blair

Howdy Mr.Blair,
And greetings from Cottonwood. Good to see you back at it. Dont let those two flatlanders pull your leg too much. Those Ironwood calls just dont work at all and neither does that Howler......the reason? They are just to purty to use!! HeHe! Anyway, welcome to the finest callin' site on the net, and very good to hear from you.

Welcome to the New Huntmasters, Gerr...er, I mean, Beastmaster. Glad to have you on board.

Rich told me about those concealed cameras, mounted in your back window, and the sensational pictures? A great idea.

Good hunting. LB

Gerry,

I think you better be careful telling us about where this group of notables get together and visit. That much calling talent in one place, and the place had better remain "secure and undisclosed". Hate to see the coyotes or the antis figure out a way to take out all of you in one fell swoop. (BTW, has Jay started calling his rtuck "Rhino One" yet?)

Rich told me about your place and the setup you have. Sounds to me like you may still be with us, but living in a little piece of heaven on earth. All I can see around here is wheat and brome grass. Closest thing to a mountain is a manure pile.

Glad to hear you had such a good day. As for me, I'll just sit here quietly while I stew in my own envy.

I'm concerned, as well. If the word got out that all this talent was assembled in one remote location, they could be held for ransom, forced to do the bidding of jealous rivals; or heaven forbid, PETA! What a revoltn' development!

I can see it all now: spirited away, 20-30 miles. Dropped off and forced to walk back to town, barefoot and naked, a hostile media, waiting. There's the "Photo Op" of a lifetime!

Don't mind me, it would never happen in a million years; I'm just being silly.

But, I can't wipe the smile off my face, over the mental picture.... ah yes, the ruminations of a sick mind, and jealous that I'm not included in all those free calls and howlers!

Just kidding, folks. Did you get some interviews on video?

Good hunting. LB [Smile]

Mr. Blair, What a nice surprise to hear you are alive and kicking. I'd heard a year or so ago that you were shooting coyotes off the big gut pile in the sky! Glad to hear your back among the living.

I, like many others, have been reading your stuff since I started predator calling. What a great help you have been to so many. Thank you.

Take care and get well.

I don't know about you, Jerry, but I'm not comfortable with the idea of Leonard picturing me naked. [Big Grin]

Beastmaster, hello hello, I'm not sure if we met or not, I was born in Tempe, stationed at Luke 56-61 and knew Jack Cain, was taught calling by Bill Dudley and competed against Del Western in the Arizona State and AVCA championship- I managed 2nd. I really like your books and your style of writing. My only surviving sister lives in Dewey, I had planned on a hunt with Jay and Rich Higgins but will have to wait until later when its cooler. I'm 69 now but feel like a kid compared to you!! Hope your feeling better every day, and hope to get an invite when I make it out to Arizona this fall. I make calls now and would consider it a privilige to send you one .
