Is that a private forum for the priveledged or am I missing something? I can't get in there.

Cal, I understand what you say. The Forum is a courtesy for members of the Gem State Predator Hunters Association, and it is semi private with an invitation from a member.
The other Club Forum is the High Desert Predator Callers, same deal.
Just a small service I'm providing for them, free of charge, to chat and discuss business. It isn't intended to cause other members of Huntmasters to feel left out, although I generally feel the same way about password protected sites.
Good hunting. LB

I may be a member of the geriatric seniors predator hunters association, but if I was invited to join the gem state organization,it's news to me,as I don't remember it or have the password.I am not upset at all lest it seem so,instead I think you are pulling Cal's leg and my own with this one statement !

No, I'm certainly not pulling anyone's leg, nor playing word games. There is a post in that Forum right now, asking SE a direct question. Why would he do that if SE didn't have access or was a member? I don't have a list of members, so I assumed, (possibly incorrectly) that SE at least, had the password? Maybe I need to change things around a bit so I am not giving out bogus info? I can allow permission to all members of that club, without needing a password. But first, I need a list of members. Until then, that forum's closed. LB

Leonard, all kidding aside,I am not a member, and I have no idea why anyone would post a question to me there, unless they knew it wouldn't be answered to begin with ? What the heck was the question, anyway ? And who posted the question, maybe they thought I was a member for some odd reason ?

No prob, SE. Trust me, there is a post asking you about how much you paid for the Cooper.
I don't know exactly who has been given the password, and perhaps I should know?
What I need right now is the member # and screen name of all memebrs, and I will give them permission to access that forum in the Control frame so that they don't need a password.
Sorry for the confusion.
Good hunting. LB

Odd,I wonder why they didn't just ask me in the regular forum ? I paid about what anyone else would pay.If he wants an answer,he can check with his State's authorized Cooper gun dealer and get it.He can check the price posted at the website, add taxes and shipping and an FFL dealer's fee,and come up with an accurate guess.
I trust you Leonard, never doubted you were being truthful. Is this person a member at HM,or someone you don't know,or what? Anyone I know ? [ June 05, 2003, 06:39 PM: Message edited by: Seldom Ever ]

I figured it was probably someone who knew me, and thought I was a member,or maybe forgot what forum they were posting in ? Probably the reason I haven't gotten an e-mail from Sly yet is because this DSL ISP of mine is sometimes 3 hours behind with e-mail.No big deal, glad we got it straightened out.
Pup, I paid 1200$ even for the Cooper, and it won't be here until after January.I took out a loan to get it and the 17Rem Encore barrel, because I'm a rifle nut hahahaha.
Fortunately,I have an understanding wife. She also won't let me sell any of my guns, she watched me do it once before, and she swears she'll not let me do it again.
Funny, the guy from Tromix finally called me today, but I told him I'd already bought the Cooper.I like it better anyway, beautiful gun.
Leonard, you can probably open the forum again,I'd hate it if I was the cause of it closing down even temporarily.

Okay, I put the Forum back up so you can see it. However, you can't access it via password, and so far, no permissions have been granted. I need screen name and member number. LB

Seldom Ever,
Thanks for the reply, I think that I am going to try and get one I can afford. I was talking with Slydog and I am going with the Douglas barrel , and I am in the process of dealing to see which action I am going to use.
Thanks for the info.

you are being smarter about it than I was.I couldn't afford the Cooper either, but I did it anyway because I wanted to own at least one Cooper. If I bought the barrel and action, there is not a smith near me competent enough to do the work.

I have a smith that is close, but I don't know if I am going to let him do this or not. It will depend on which action I go with. If I use the Howa 1500, I can use the stock. but I seen that the CZ is now offered with the single set trigger. I love my .222 in the 527 American, I don't know yet , we'll see who can get right on the price.
Everybody is trying to get me to build something else, hollering about bullet choice, but I am sticking with the tact20 as my first wildcat.
Anyway if it doesn't work out, I can always give Slydog a hard time about it. Since he is the one that planted this seed.
