On a totally different train of thought,tell me something about your 20,give me some specs on it,I'm thinking on having one custom made, just because I have the opportunity to do so ?

Is it a wildcat,is there a lot of case prep,etc ?

The Tact20 is a .223 necked down to .204. The 20t-n-t is a 17rem necked up to .204. The Tact20 would be the cheapest way to go(brass is everyware) There is a little case prep at first but once its done its done. There are 11 bullets made now by 7 manufactures and I'm sure that there will be more made in the future. All the testing that I've done has been real impressive. Its hard to make one NOT shoot well.
The 20's are a flatline gun. My tact20 is sighted in 1" high at 100 yards and is 3/4" low at 300 yards. if you want more info you should talk to Todd Kindler at the woodchuck den in Baltic OH. the phone # is (330)897-0614 he can tell you more than I can, He invented it.

Well,I just got back from the local loan company. I'm placing an order for a Cooper or Tromix in 20 tactical tonight,I can't decide which.The Cooper would be a single shot in M21 varminter configuration,and wouldn't be here until after January.The tromix is an AR15 style rifle, in multiple shot clip.I don't know if it's back ordered like the Coopers or not. Both are about the same price,with Tromix possibly being a bit higher.What would you guys do,which one would you purchase ?

Go with the single shot. It will make you a better shooter.

The MV is 3980fps the BC is 205 The bullet is a 33grn V-MAX and the altitude here is approx.3800

Dick,

I think you will be happy with the choice of guns and I know you will love the caliber. I would order some IMI brass from the woodchuck den, they will even form it for you if you want.

That brass is the key to building good ammo for the 20's. These 20's are tack drivers that will do the job, you can take that to the bank, my word on it.....

Thanks Dic,yeah,I'm really excited about it too,first off it's a Cooper, and second it's my first wildcat cartridge,kinda venturing into the unknown a little here:^).

In a way I'm glad it won't be ready until after January, it gives me something to look forward to,and it also tells me the rifles really are custom made.Lastly,it gives me time to buy brass,bullets,and dies before it gets here.

I don't think that 20 shoots quite that flat. I ran those numbers through both Sierra3 and Infinity Five programs. Using your numbers and assuming a 1.5" sight height, gives a little different results. Both programs agree very closely. They show a 225 yard zero will have it 1" high at 100 yards, 1.2" high at 125-150, and 3.4" low at 300. Still pretty flat but not flat enough to only drop 3/4" at 300.

I will go through my notes and check, I may have my numbers mixed up but the results are the same as Todd Kindler's and Greg Tannel's give or take .5" at 300.
