I'm sitting here free and easy with not a worry in the world. ""Thanks"" to all the soldiers who fought and died for this country sure seems small!

Count me in. The sacrifices were many, and I have a strong appreciation.

And, we're losing them at an accelerated rate. For me, my uncle died just two weeks ago, went in the second wave at Iwo Jima, and several other island battles that were fierce. He was a hero, for sure. Fittingly, he had a Marine honor guard, the least we can do for a hero. (they looked like reservists, to me, but that's okay?)

Now, even 'Nam vets are getting long in the tooth, my brother was fortunate to return safely, without a scratch, from the central highlands.

Good hunting. LB

To me this should be the true "Thanks Giving Day".

I for one am a vet. I am very proud of all of my brothers and sisters that also served in the various other branches.

For me, those who gave all and their families are never far from from my thoughts. It is a honor to call them brothers.

Weather they came home or not, the solder and their families, sacrificed part of their life for the freedoms we enjoy. Some the ultimate sacrifice, others just a portion of it. Still in my view, those sacrifices were significant.

Thank You All.

Sporterweight,

We sit here and enjoy freedom because these men and women were willing to die...

But I think Patton said it best "nobody wins a war by dying for their country, they do it by making some other poor SOB die for his!"

On Veterans Day we can remember those who did not die but afforded us this peace and freedom, in the spirit of victory...

But tomorrow I will fly my flag at halfstaff, and with the same solemness I sit down and pay my bills with... I will remember that Freedom and Democracy have a price, and that price has been the life blood of valiant warriors (on both sides)!

If you have lost anyone I wish you solice,

Jeff -
