You'd be doing yourself a big service if you did a search on it, and got yourself set-up to use it... I have not yet gotten the gumption to do so, but I believe guys like you and me (who get winded by most of the coyotes we call, in the thick stuff, without ever knowing we called em in) would benefit a great deal by using it.
It is almost an attractant, and is an awesome cover... like cammo it isn't necessary, but it is one of the tools you could have "in your toolbox", and it could help to make you invisable to a coyotes nose.

Most coyotes can smell you out if you're covered in a pile of manure anyway,there ain't no such thing as a cover scent for a nose like that.
Deer,maybe,coyote,no way.....
But at the same time,it can't hurt to try,what do you want for a can of this stuff,and how do I get it,Leonard ?

I just sent the following e-mail to a fella, this very day. Gives a snapshot explanation. Read on~
I recommend using a mixture of rabbit and coyote urine, and misting it downwind; beginning as soon as possible. I won't go deeply into the theory of "cover scent" and all the endless argument about how you can't disguise human scent. We know that a coyote can smell a human. He can smell a human regardless of your efforts to mask your odor.
But, if you are misting a good quantity of urine down wind, when that animal arrives, he will smell three things. Human, rabbit and coyote. Don't expect miracles, but you CAN expect a shot on a stationary animal. Pass the shooting sticks, please!
So, this is another consideration. A clear line of fire directly down wind. And, an accurate scoped rifle. If you have enough mist in the air, and you anticipate an approach from down wind, you have every reason to expect a decent shot. That's all you can ask for, a few seconds of indecision, before they disappear forever.
That makes it worthwhile to carry a spray bottle. You WILL kill more animals that circle downwind if you use Leonard's Magic Mist.
The way I prepare the mist is to use three quarters rabbit to one quarter coyote urine, because it is that much stronger. Then I cut it in half with plain water, and filter it with the paint filters available at any hardware store. The purpose is to prevent the clogging of the atomizer. These urine's contain a lot of solids, and they will clog a fine mister. Also, keep a spare and protect it from freezing, while alternating on stands.
You will probably see behavior not seen previously. I estimate that the use of my Magic Mist will increase your kill by five to ten percent, minimum. I need my calls and my guns and my mist; I never leave home without them.
Think about it....

Seldom, You're right, You can't fool a coyote's schnoz. ut, if you can screw with the life support system for it, it's worth the effort, and leonard's idea does work. One word of advice beyond varmit hunter's, watch for changing wind direction. Coyote pee, in quantity, has a limited amount of odor. Atomize it into a fine mist and it'll take your breath away. I've had two occasions where the wind back eddie'd on me just as I hit the pump button and WHEW! You end up tasting and smelling it the rest of the day.
BTW, Trapper magazine has lots of trapping supply vendors that sell top grade urines and leonard and the others might be able to direct you to others. Beware of sources that market it for reasons other than trapping, i.e., gardening (fox urine to keep rabbits away). Most of that stuff is well watered down.
Question for Leonard: I've filtered mine through coffee filters twice and still have problems with the acuator gelling up and clogging. Is there something in there that I'm not filtering out properly?

Never tried coffee filters, Lance. Don't know why they wouldn't work, though? I use the flannel type. When I get down to the last amount that won't drain into the jar, I pour it into a separate bottle, and use it in a flip top squeeze bottle to hose down my path back to my stand location; when I set out the speaker. It's kind of syrupy. I think it slows them down when they cross between you and the speaker on your path.
One thing for sure is to back flush your sprayer with hot water before you go hunting. The build up is what gets you clogged up. You know, it dries. Use very hot water and work the button or the trigger many times. Remove the tube, rinse the bottle thouroughly.

In Heat Scents carries just about every animal you can imagine. I used his Coyote in heat scent to kill a call wise male a couple of years ago. Worked fine for me!!

The "Mist" sounds like a good idea to me. I used to carry a couple cottage cheese or butter tubs of wet rabbit droppings from under the kids bunny cages when I took a stand, I'd always spread the pellets around where I setup. Had pretty good luck calling over this cover several times.
The only reason I don't do it now is...one day I forgot to take a container out of my truck,the wife got in and put her foot on it, and squeezed it all over the floorboard. Glad I was parked in the driveway! The neighbors still kid me about the screaming that day. Oh well,life goes on. Nikonut
