First thing this morning (One cup of coffee). I decided to install my new Limb Saver recoil pad on my 835 Ultimag. These pads give 50% recoil reduction.

This pad was modified. I had to drill one new hole in the butt stock.

Apparently I did not drill a big enough hole. Had to really bear down on the screw driver.

Ha, I am smarter than this. So I go get my 18 volt drill motor. This baby is gona go now (Right).

Here is were the fun begins. I have the muzzle on the floor. The forearm clamped between my knees. O.K., I think yall can guess were the 1 1/2 power Burris scope is located. Hint. It is were you don't wont to be woped.

Well I hit the trigger. The screw driver grabs, Slips, Grabs, Slips about 78 times causing a Wham Bam effect. I think it took ten minutes to get my finger off the trigger.

I am wide awake now. I think I will be able to take normal breaths around noon.

Owww!!! Must be the moon, Ronnie. I went out this morning after dropping my son at school to try and howl in a pair that have been hazing some cows/calves. After a totally fruiless setup, I'm heading back to the truck and my coveralls snag the barbs on an electric fence. Lose balance, barb hits inside upper thigh, boots soaked with early morning rain and dew. I only managed to catch one good "pulse" from the charger before panic and hyper-fast thinking got me loose. You know, it's amazing how many thoughts go through one's mind starting with the realization that you're hung up on an electric fence in wet boots, well grounded, and that you have about 2.7 seconds to break loose before your chromosomes get scrambled. Do you trash your good NatGear coveralls? Dive for the ground and hope your rifle isn't broke in the fall? Jump wildly about and hope no one sees you? I chose the latter. Was well within sight of the owner's house. He was out feeding cattle. I just walked out of there like it happens to me every day. Whew!

That's too bad Ronnie. I liked that deep Texas drawl of your's. Gonna miss it. Lance, now that's what makes good video. You gotta learn to set the camera up first just in case.

Ronnie,
That'll teach you to have only one cup of coffee!!! How did you survive the rest of the day?

Lance,
I've ripped jillions of pairs of pants right at the crotch trying to cross barb wire fences while hunting!!!

Yeah, sure Rich. Truth be known, I was wearing my ghillie poncho and I just had to wonder if, when that one and only pulse of juice hit me, did all that jute stand on end. POOF! THAT would have been funny to see. I don't have any hair anymore to do that, but my eyebrows were smoking on the way back to the truck. [Eek!]

Business offer to both Ronnie and Lance! If you guys would re-enact those events, I would be willing to fly to Ks and Tx to film them. People would pay money to see that. Ronnie talking in his helium-voice and Lance with ghilley standing on end. Too cool.

How do you like that Ultimag, Ronnie? I bought one when they first came out, the serial number is 2,XXX. No factory camo, or any other accruements, but I love it. The first shotgun I reach for, and the last one I'm willing to loan.

Good hunting. LB

Leonard, I feel the same as you. Not the pretties girl at the dance, But the first I reach for. I have a Benelli SBE that stays home for Coyote, And Turkey hunts.

We have a group of trap shooters that gather every Sunday afternoon to shoot a game called Any Oakley. They all pay up a quarter. If the first shooter misses, The second, Third, And forth shoot at it. Say if the third shooter hits it, The two who missed are out. This goes on till the last man. On many occasions. I have seen the fourth shooter break it. He will either be holding a Perazzi, Are a Mossberg 835.

Now think about this. They crank the machines to 75 MPH. They call for the bird at 27 yards. If the fourth shooter gets to shoot. The bird will be between 95, and a 105 yards away. Only Perassi and Mossberg have back bored barrels. They are ten gauge diameter tapering down to 12. We call them the $200 guns with a $1000 barrel.

Now before I hear Texas BS. There are no rules as to loads. I have seen numerous barrels blown up for a hand full of quarters. One guy has blown up three barrels. Mossberg has replaced each at no charge.

I shot with them one time. When I saw a $12,000 Perassi blow up. I remembered I had a date with a Coyote Bitch. I now watch this from a distance.
