Farmer in Maryland goes deer hunting on his farm. Gets a buck and saws a nice V in the skull and screws the antlers to his barn like he always does. Two years later a hunter from Pennsylvania comes along to hunt on his property. He hunts then comes back and gets to talking to the farmer about all those antlers on his barn. Farmer tells some stories. The hunter notices a nice rack and asks the farmer if he can buy it for $750.00. Farmer thinks he's joking until the money comes out. Farmer takes the money, gets ladder and unscrews the mount and hands it over to the hunter. Hunter gets back home and has the mount scored officially. Rack scores 198 BC. Hunter hands the rack to my taxidermists to see what can be done. My guy gets a skin and gives it a life size shoulder mount. So the hunter now has invested somewhere around $1250.00 Here's the kicker, he has already been offered $3500.00 for it and people are calling to rent it for their displays and photo ops. This rack that some farmer never thought much of will now be bringing in thousands of dollars.
I know this story to be true. I was going to my taxidermist to pick up my european mount on last years buck I got in deer season that he did for me. He also asked if I would bring along my camera to take some pics that he will use for his brochures. Now, I thought mine was awesome because, we just don't get them that big here. He is a 11 point non typical which scored 128. To us here in the town, that is huge and to be a non typical to boot, that's just amazing. But when I took my mount and held it up to this monster buck, well, my mount could fit inside his with lots of room left over. I suddenly felt ashamed..lol
When I get the pics back this week, I will see if I can get someone to put them on a disk for me and post it. I'm just thrilled, I got asked to do the camera shots before he delivered it back to the hunter. I know this has nothing to do about coyote hunting, but I'm still amazed at the luck some people have.

HA! Cool story Crow Women. Amazing what a savvy investment can get you, if you know what you are doing. Yours is nothing to be ashamed of my dear! Wish it was mine!
