Nothing I did, folks. I'm advised that there was a hard drive failure at the host. I just hope they can recover my lost data? We will see? LB

I'm surprised that they don't have thier sites on a RAID array for failover. Do they backup the board regularly to tape?

I trust all is back. The non-commercial hosting is done on a Cobalt RaQ which is backed up nightly. They don't use a RAID mirroring system for non-commercial sites due to cost. On sites that are database driven and are mission critical RAID level 5 is used with 3 hard drives. That costs the end user much more than what someone running a bulletin board would want to pay in my opinion. If there were any posts made during the hour the hard drive was being replaced, they wouldn't show up but other that that, all should be okay.

There were a couple posts lost, as well as one or two registrations. We can live with it.
I sure miss those neat banner ads at the top. Maybe we can do that one of these days? Believe it or not, I have had one inquiry so far. Can hats and T shirts be far off?
Thanks for the support, John.
Good hunting. LB

Please, no banners for sure not animated ones.
Those of us who cannot get cable or DSL are plagued by them... some of the ones on PM take up to a minute to load, slowing every window I am browsing in the process. The Foxpro one is the worst, if I see it beginning to load I just get up and take a break, let the dog out or something.
Please no banners... but you gotta pay the bills, and cash talks. Do what you have to, but try to keep them small for those of us lagging behind.
Thanks,
Jeff

No plans, that was a JOKE, Krusty! Sheesh!
As far as paying the bills, just you and me, so far. Thanks for asking; I'll let you know what you half comes to. LB
PS I keep wanting to call you Krispy Creme, for some reason?
