I haven't posted in a long time, but I ain't dead either. Just been busy enjoying Montana. I did have a pretty good month of coyote hunting until the wind kicked up in January then stuck around for the next couple months. So I switched to fishing...I can fish in the wind.

So here's a few recent pics.

Long arming hopefully keeps more of the focus on the fish than the fisherman. I'm just the lucky guy that gets to hold them for a few seconds and then slip them right back in the water. For me, as far as photos go, I want it to be more about the fish than anything else.

I don't know, but in at least one of those photos the white camo wasn't really necessary. [Big Grin]
Nice fish, by the way. [Cool]

Iceberg camo ????

Can't help but notice the total lack of other people on the water or shore.

INSTRUCTION: Focus on the mesh pocket in the vest and wiggle the image up and down, moderately fast. That white square inside the pocket seems to pulsate....like magic!

Despite popular belief it's okay to keep a few fish now and then. Personally I can't stand to eat trout so 95% of them go right back in the water. However, I do have a family in town that really loves to eat trout. Their dad is a fire fighter and works hard to provide for his family. However he rarely has time to fish. So every now and then I drop off a few fish for them and they really seem to enjoy it. The discoloration on the fish is because I threw them into my ice chest seconds after catching them and as they die the ice discolors them. Doesn't make for real purty pics, but y'all get the idea. The smallest fish in the photo measured 18" long, and the longest is 23".

Full disclosure here. For me, trout is damned near inedible. Taste is bland and the bones are vicious. Catch and release is the rule with this kid. However, if you like 'em, <shrug>

I will keep my comments to myself. What I mean is; my girlfriend ordered rainbow from a menu not long ago. I said not a word, but considered it much wasted money when she could have had so many other and superior fish. No accounting for taste?

Good hunting. El Bee

edit: oh, and another thing! The bigger, the less edible. I think 10" is about a limit, talking about rainbows from a mountain stream.

Leonard, I don't like to eat them regardless of size. About the only exception I make is I don't mind smoked trout. I figured I catch between 250 to 300 trout a year. I keep only about 15-20 for friends that like them or occasionally smoke one or two. So I'd say given that, odds are greatly in the fishes favor of going back in the water.

I agree about eating trout, the only way I like them is if they are smoked. Now if you want great eating fish I say Walleye,Perch, and Catfish are hard to beat.....

Good Hunting Chad
