I don't call, or kill too many bobcats. Just never target them, and all my calling is daytime calling. Last one I got was year before last. Forgot to even put in for tags this year. So I had to let this one go last weekend. Here is a short video clip of it.

Looked pretty big to me. But, like I said, I really don't get to see that many, and have only weighed just a few. Last one I got was 31 pounds, and this one looks bigger to me. But I'm wondering what you more experienced fellas would guess him at?

Edited to make sense. I used to know how to spell...

Nice piece of video Dave!

I'm no expert on Bobcats, but that cat looked bigger than the last bobcat I saw crack the 30 lb. mark. Deep chested and long, looked like a dandy.

I don't want to sound like a law breaker, but that had to be tough watching that guy walk.

It was hard to tell from the video, how far were you from the cat. 100-150 yards?

I don't know? As Jack O'Conner used to say, the big ones look big.

That's a nice cat, but he does not look like he would go more than 31, 32 or possibly 33 pounds; which is a hell of a nice cat. I have never taken one much larger than that, that I was able to weigh, at least? When you start getting to 35/36 pounds, that's a real monster, in my neighborhood.

Good hunting. LB

Lonny, I was sitting about 100 yards or so from it.

The clip is only about 90 seconds, but he sat out there like that for 12 minutes. I cranked my Zeiss up to 14x and got a real good look at him. Looked like some excellent belly fur, thick and clear with nice spots. Definitely hurt to have to let him walk...

DAA,

I would love to help you find out how much that bobcat weights! I know someone who has a couple tags [Cool]

I haven't called a cat in (that I saw) in a few years. Same deal...didn't have tags that year. Since then, I've had tags and haven't seen once since...typical.

Looked pretty big to me. My dog was trying to get into the screen real bad. Great video. He was dead asleep until the E-caller came on.
