Some more cats, just got the pictures developed. Notice the mean looking hunting Corgi. The cat on the left weighed 37 lbs.

That's a monster indeed. I wonder if you're getting any video of those live critters? It seems like you got your caliber XL1 after the season. It is a very nice looking critter you got there!

That's an interesting, topic, Terry.
For me, the biggest cat I ever shot, I never weighed it. I managed to take a photo, since lost, ![[Frown]](frown.gif) but it was huge, indeed. Not husky, a lanky "lynx cat", but he still might have weighed 32, or there abouts?
Anything over 30 is a real big bobcat.
The one in the pic, above, is as large as any I have personally seen, (but) it wasn't taken by me, in any case.

Leonard,Cats in the eastern part of the state are small 22 pounds is the average size the numbers are high.The middle of the state has good numders of cats and the size is about 25 pounds.The western part of the state has lower nunbers of cats but the size is larger.All the big cats I have taken were in the western side of the state.Around christmas of last year I shot a good cat 28.5 pounds.On the Tennessee river not far from the Alabama line.

That's interesting, Terry. You normally don't think of Tennessee as a bobcat producing state, at least I don't? Guess that's an incorrect perception?
I was once shown a bobcat taken by a man I worked with. He was originally from New Mexico, but I showed hima few places in Arizona, which then became his, if you know what I mean? Doesn't matter, I figured as much, but anyway, this bobcat was the weirdest specimen I have ever seen. Initially, I supposed that it weighed 18-20 pounds; but he told me I was way off, which I had a hard time believing.
But, he was right, it weighed closer to thirty pounds, built like a bulldog. The only cat I have seen, proportioned that way. Short and stocky, and wide. But, nicely marked, a lot of spots.
A lot of our mountain cats look just like the big boy in the picture, above. Desert cats look completely different, and those from Utah, Nevada and the desert parts of California and Idaho are usually long bodied and long legged cats without a lot of spots.
What we call, "lynx cats". Some people don't like that description, but that's what we call them. It has nothing to do with being part lynx, or anything like that. They just have a body and conformation that resembles a lynx.
